Another needs based mock.

when are they gonna learn/care?

Not necessarily.   BPA could fall out that way.   Decker, Washington & Xavien Howard could very well be the best players available in rounds 1 - 3.

Also, it's hard for these computer database sites like Drafttek to do anything but a needs based draft.  They plug in the team's needs and assign each a priority and then use that algorithm to figure out who each team drafts.

Yeah, Gettleman will have his surprises because of how he evaluates players and who he has as best on his board.  But these mock drafts can at least give some idea of who might be available at different positions when we pick.

Agreed that it could shake out that way.  It's still just another cookie cutter mock.

Fun to look at I suppose but can't be taken seriously as the variables alone make them irrelevant.

I wrote for Drafttek one year (covered the Panthers).  They make you switch your picks to keep it refreshing.  You then have to defend the choice in a narrative.

Again that's fine, this mock is easily defended because these are perceived as needs.

imho, mocks made before the free agent period has matured is a bit silly.  Our FO fills the roster prior to the draft as best as possible to prevent drafting based on needs.

I'm so damn glad all of these mock drafts won't be anywhere near what Gman will do....just like every year where people mock the shittiest drafts for us.

This has less to do with needs and more to do with ensuring your mock has the biggest names going to the most popular teams

Not a fan personally.  Highly doubt we take an OT in the first, the 2nd round pick is solid, Howard is vastly overrated, no way we wait until the 4th to take a DE and for the love of God, no more App St guys.  I also don't believe we're taking a RB in this years draft, that will be a priority next off-season/draft.  And finally, no way Burbridge falls to the 7th.

L-Town, I just want to make sure that you don't think I was mocking your post---I was simple explaining the process so people understand it.  I opened it at peeked at the players.   I wish Draftek would explain the theme/rules they were using (they may now, but didn't then).
