Didn't they barely beat the winless lions and crappy raiders too? They were what everyone said we were last year.

Yep both of those games too. '08 was a good team - they still won those games. But a few bounces the other direction we could have been -4 games

Our 2015 team would decimate that 2008 secondary.

A fully healthy 2005 squad is probably the only team that could make it a game. Pep, Rucker, Wallace and Moorehead + Davis at spy would make that game closer than it should be.(e:  Kris Jenkins was still around then, too.)

I think people forget how terrible our defense was in 2008 and really forget how good it was in 2005.

yeah the 2005 team was one of my favorite squads of all time

we actually lost kris jenkins in week 1 too.  the middle of that line was held down by hog farmer jordan carstens which was pretty cool.

The 2015 squad would win convincingly. Cam would convert too many 3rd downs and wear out the 08 defense.

Keuchly would figure Jake out and pick him off 3 times like he did Romo.

Now put Cam Newton on the 08 squad and that's some serious poo. Prime Cam with prime Smitty and Double Trouble would be just insane

Are you guys still recovering from that Superbowl loss lol.

Oh look, the Passive-Aggressive cheesehead troll.  We weren't expected to make it to the Super Bowl, so it didn't take me long to get over it. Bless your little heart for asking. Those Packers sure did poo the bed by not winning the NFC North as expected, then putting on that poo show in overtime in Arizona. The cheeseheads have had to pout for 2 months, and since the Packers are just sitting on their hands for free agency, this guy decides to try to troll us. Btw, have fun looking up at the Vikings in first place next year, since Green Bay is on a downward spiral not winning the NFC North and getting bounced earlier from the playoffs.

Honestly I think the whole sitting on their hands in FA thing has been a good policy for the long-run.  Packers rarely go into long-term slumps.

We all acknowledge overpaying FAs can have disastrous effects.  The only way you can do it effectively is if you can afford to pay big money without a long term commitment (like Revis with the Pats).  Strangling your cap so you cant afford your own grown talent is a baddddd long term plan.

We lost as expected. You guys got thumped by Denver. Cam looked defeated in the 2nd quarter lol.

Only prior Panthers team that could possibly beat this team, in my opinion, is the 2013 team. I still think that team's loss in the playoffs hurt me more than losing in the Super Bowl this year. That defense was better than the Seahawks' was that year (yes Seahawks were #1 for the season, but by the playoffs the Panthers D was better) and better than the Broncos' this year. Had we gotten past the refs and Niners, we'd have won that Super Bowl. Won't say 2013's team was better than this year considering the difference in the offense, but it's close. That D was a D that wins championships and I wish we could've kept it together. This year's D struggled a lot, and the #1 O was kind of fools gold, in my opinion. We still have improvements we need to make on both sides of the ball.

Nah.  2015 is the best team we ever had because it's the first time we had a dominant QB.  Cam was still a game manager that year, had Shula turned him loose sooner you might be on to something.

'Thumped' is what happened to the Packers during the first half of the Carolina game this year; down by 6 with 4 minutes to go while having a ton more offensive yardage is hardly 'thumped'. The only thumping was done by Von Miller, and Kony Ealy turned in an almost identical performance. Denver got a couple of big plays, and that's often the difference in competitive games between good teams..
