But there is usually some rumblings. Like visits for example.

Those usually come after all the colleges Pro Days are done.  Right now, the teams are visiting the players (at the Pro Days they're interested in).

I don't think we're going to sign an OT.  I believe that will be something we're going to address in the draft.

We may but if we don't sign someone,  that wouldn't hold true to Dave's philosophy. We lost Chandler,  so going into the draft,  'having'  to draft an OT wouldn't fit. I say we sign someone,  if we draft someone also,  they fight it out in camp.

Drafting an OT rather than signing one in the FA is a cheaper option.  Plus, we need to go ahead and start grooming Oher's replacement.

If the right prospect falls to us in the draft, then I think picking an OT is likely. But at the same time, it wouldn't surprise me to see him use FA or UDFA to find a tackle or a tackle prospect for depth.

This next week of free agency should see us be more active. Hopefully we see some movement.

I have never seen such silence from the organization before. No reports of visits with any free agents. Quietly signing one depth guy. Two resigning of locker room guys. No news on contracts.

When do you expect this silence to end? Will we sign anyone else before the draft? Are we just biding our time till we just go crazy with signings?

Umm, this isn't unusual for the Panthers anymore. Might not make any large signings until after the draft, if then. There might be a lot of folks out there on the wire that you or I would take, but Gettleman, not so much.

Breathe, relax and watch the other teams fall all over themselves to overpay for worn-outs, never-wases and who-is-thats. We aren't those guys anymore.

This is one of the most interesting aspects left this off-season. If Gman waits until after the draft, he will know exactly what he needs to fill in the gaps. Whereas, if they bring in the FAs before the draft, it could handcuff Gman in the draft. As he would almost have to limit the positions he could draft.

For example. If we bring in a 5 tech. DT before the draft, Gman would have to limit himself to the 3. But if he drafts a 5, it is easier to grab a 3 in FA. Or if there is a WR in the 1st Gman absolutely loves. If he has already brought in a Vet, does he pass on the WR because of too many WR?

I am loving this off-season for some reason. Lots of shtuff gon happen, Or not happen. All I do know is that Gman and RR will upgrade this team at every opportunity. No complacency up in here.

If only we had 45 guys returning from a superb owl 17-2 team.

Plus a borderline pro bowl receiver coming of injury....

There's gonna be nothing borderline about KB this year.  Unstoppable.

This whole free agency period has been a bit odd.  Market is a bit out of whack and the top flight free agents aren't really all that top-flight.

It hasn't gotten the same level of exposure and hype that free agency normally gets.  Probably due to the lackluster wide receiver pool, which seems to be the only position that puts fans in seats.

Just not that great of a FA class this offseason if you're looking at the top of it.  Oliver Vernon, Osemele, Osweiler, Irvin, Trevathan, and Alex Mack were some of the "top" guys.  A lot of overpaying.
