Manziel vs RG3

Mr. Scot

To put things into perspective about how out of control Johnny is, he got fired by his agent. He didn't fire his agent. His agent actually fired him. Agents don't do that. Johnny is so toxic that not even the scummiest part of the industry wants anything to do with him.

Chances are Gilbert and Mingo won't be there in two years too.

Yep. That is one of the things that often gets overlooked. Gilbert, taken before Manziel, while not nearly as bad off the field, is just about as bad on it as Manziel was.

And are we really comparing RGIII to Johnny Alcoholic?

At RGIII's worst he was still better than Manziel on the field. And RGIII off the field might as well be mother Teresa compared to Johnny Domestic Abuser.

I'd rather have RG3 with two torn ACLs and a concussion out there playing than having Manziel on the practice squad. He is a joke that only got attention for off-field shenanigans. RG3 has at least done something. Right now Manziel's claim to fame is throwing up prayers to future NFL WRs that were a foot taller than the defenders. I'd rather have golden calf. I'd rather have Tiny-Hands Clausen. I'd rather see what Vinny Testaverde is up to. Rodney Peete. Direct snap it to Philly or Ginn. Literally anyone in the NFL other than Johnny the con-artist.

How is this even a question? Of course it's RG3. The guy has some talent and isn't a complete dumpster fire off the field.

honestly think it's kind of disrespectful to put the two together in a question like this.

Not really.  It's a 'compare and contrast' thing as they're both Heisman winners who were drafted in the first round within the last few years and both now find themselves dumped by the teams that drafted them.

Now, the respective problems that plague them?  Very different.

Granted, there's been plenty of talk about RG3 being a behind-the-scenes diva, but the vast majority of his problems relate to his inability to stay healthy.  Technically, manziel can't stay 'healthy' either, but his problems are in his brain, not his knee.

I think JB is probably right above when he says neither of them will succeed at the NFL level, but it's a question to ponder whilst we await our next free agent action.

To make millions of dollars playing a game that children play.

I mean, I'd take a six figure paycheck to lose games. Unfortunately that seems to be the only culture that team has cultivated over the years.

I'm not talking about playing in the NFL, I'm talking about specifically saying you want to play for the Browns.

On the field they are so far different from each other it's laughable. Even when RG3 was struggling behind that poo o line and a busted knee he would still have games where he'd put up 300 yards and 2 tds. Manziel has literally shown nothing. He is all media hype and a Lebron James endorsement.

one guy is a douche behind the scenes but he is not being seen in Vegas with rolled up dollar bills, involved in domestic violence cases, or going to rehab for substance abuse issues. Those are the reasons this question is disrespectful in my mind.
