Coleman played more snaps and had more tackles at FS than any of our defensive backs so like you said it depends on the situation.

You are right about each situation is unique but the again I have to figure as physical as our defense plays probably any position takes a toll on their bodies as everyone can lay the wood.

Weddle won't be a Panther because he doesn't want to be a Panther ....or a Patriot.     He wants to stay in Cali.   He is just tossing out our names and acting like he has a lot of irons in the fire,   in an effort to squeeze more money from the Raiders.

Guy seems to only care about money and staying in Cali.  lol.

Sorry but I could care less about the Chargers last year, but isn't Weddle an absolute malcontent that got himself suspended in the middle of a game for basically refusing to go back to the locker room?

Actually, the more I read up on Weddle the more I dislike his character. Skipping workouts, bitching about a contract extension to the point that the Chargers needed to put him on IR just to get rid of him.

So exactly why do we want this guy messing up our locker room again?

This. Seems to be some character concerns.

Im much more interested in signing our own guys than paying top tier free agent money.  While he would undoubtedly ball his ass off in our system, we just dont need him that bad.  Lock up the D line, keep targeting mid level/down year type guys.  It's an art

Weddle stayed out of the locker room for part of a halftime in Week 15 because his daughter was part of a dance performance.

The Chargers were already 3-10 at the time and going nowhere.  They were a--holes about it and fined him.  Then when he complained they put him on IR even though it wasn't warranted.

There are no character concerns with Weddle, none whatsoever.

I thought the deal with weddle and the Chargers was that they basically faked his health and IRed him so he couldn't get contract incentives for playing time.

That may also have been part of it.

I know a lot of people took the Chargers to task for how they treated a guy that had been there so long and done so much for the team.

I read up on it. It wasn't about money. It was going to be his last game as a charger.

They ired him for a groin injury. He got seriously pissed off and was doing 50 yard wind sprints and side to side shuffles in practice the week before the last game. Kind of a fug you.

Lots of chargers fans were saying the organization treats their best players really poorly. LT, Vincent Jackson, junior seau. I don't remember anything about those three but that's what's been said.

I've heard that take on the Chargers before, and there's some evidence.

Wish our old buddy Boltergeist was around.  He's likely have some insight.

Weddle is the dictionary definition of a gym rat.  He doesn't drink ordo drugs and he will press Luke for film time.  Like Luke he is known to call out plays pre-snap because of all the work he puts into studying formations, down and distance, motion, tendencies, etc.. He would fit into our scheme/lockerroom perfectly from day one.  We need all the FOOTBALL players we can get.  As of last night.......

The Union-Tribune San Diego confirms the Raiders are interested in free agent S Eric Weddle.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported earlier Thursday that the Raiders were "working on" the longtime Bolt. Per Acee, Weddle has "at least four irons in the fire." Although he's now 31, Weddle is one of the better players remaining in free agency.

So much drama last season.  Was Weddle the one that was told to find his own way home,  because he opted to stay on the field a little longer during halftime to watch his little girl cheer/dance. ..  So basically he wasn't allowed on the team bus/plane.....and had to find his own mode of transportation.

Then they faked the severity of his injury and placed him on IR.   What really seemed to push him over the edge though was when they banned him from riding with the team or having anything to do with the team in their final game of the season.   Against the  Broncos.          I mean,  the final game........and it's against not only a division foe but one of the best teams in the NFL,  and he's not even allowed be anywhere around em?  Because of a doctored up IR report?          I believe that's when he did the wind sprints and implied "fug yall,  I'm done with the Chargers".

If this drama is the right one I'm thinking of,  concerning him and SD.......  then the Chargers really screwed over one of their better players of the last decade.
