Also can you name players we could've or can sign right now that you know for sure would put us over the top for a super bowl win?

You can scroll back through this thread to see a number of names I've thrown out. The key target was Casey Hayward, a quality nickel who SD signed for similar numbers to what we gave Paul Soliai to come here and cash in one last time before he hangs it up. Hayward is young, talented, would legitimize the CB group and was a smart investment.

We didn't lose the SB because of any extra money we didnt spend.or expensive player we didnt sign. We clearly had the best record during the season, so we were the elite team to beat. We lost because we didn't show up, fumbling the ball, time and time again, throwing picks and basically capitulating on offense. Denver came to play, they were prepared to do anything to win while we stood around feeling sorry for ourselves. We chose a bad day to have a bad day. On another day we may have won. Hopefully next time we come better prepared because we looked like a team that thought wed role to a win but we got smacked in the mouth. We were way more focused for Seattle and Arizona.

Oh so we picked a bad day to have a bad day.

But I think the question is, is who do we lay that at the feet of? Was it on the players? On the coaches? I couldn't be the only one that thought we came out VERY lackluster, since we were being talked up the entire two weeks leading up to the bowl. I think a lot of fans were just so heart broken that they are grasping at straws for an explanation.

But anyway, any news on ANYONE visiting us? Haha, who am I kidding, of course there isn't.

Go back to the first post in this thread and read the quote it contains.

The teams that make all the crazy moves in March are usually the ones that are sitting at home come next January.

maybe we did offer him something? Maybe we didn't think he was a fit? Maybe he wanted to live in SD? No clue. There are so many different variables to signing FAs. I mean we have veterans who take paycuts to stay here. So I think FA know this is a good landing spot with a good lockerroom and coaching staff and some very talented players.

It's really hard for me to get upset when the GM we have right now has been making great moves the past 3 years in the draft, FA and extensions based on our cap situation years past. We just made it to the Super Bowl after that horrible 2014 season when we were getting our cap in order so we could sign those talented drafted players of our own. This is arguably the most talented roster we have fielded. This team right now can win a Super Bowl. We have the pieces. Continuing to add talent through the draft as well as some low key FA signings that DG and RR feel are good fits and have value works for me. Because we've had some really great success with this method and I believe we can win it all.

Its almost like you have these ideas in your head, and when they don't come to fruition you take it as some sort of personal affront to your intelligence and lash out.

I'm not advocating crazy moves. Never have. Never will. But hopefully, ANY moves that shows the FO at least knows they have to improve in some places to get us over the hump. We aren't gonna win the SB in March, but we also didn't win it in February, and SOME tweaking should take place to rectify the horrible show for the SB and help us get over the hump.

But it's whatever, it's a non-issue. I'm not trying to argue with anybody on this point. I just want us to win and I just hope we do what we need to get us there.

As annoying as Fox is, yeah, that's pretty much what happened.

The thing that is rubbing people the wrong way about what your saying, is you are basically making the argument that what we are doing and how we are doing it won't work. The opposite seems to be true though, because we are now a perennial playoff team and will be for the foreseeable future. It's not like we're Hurnying this poo and missing the playoffs every year. We are going to the playoffs and competing for a championship. So many different things have to go a team's way in order to win a Super Bowl and I truly believe we were the better team overall at the Super Bowl this year. But as the saying goes "Any given Sunday", and that Sunday the Broncos made less mistakes, capitalized on ours, and won.

Personnel is not why we lost the super bowl. I know a lot of people think adding a super star is a quick fix and means automatic wins, but that's not why we lost. We lost due to turnovers, poor gameplanning on the offensive side of the ball, and some bad luck with the refs.

You can't sit here and tell me that if we had signed any One or even two particular FAs last year that they would have been the difference in winning the super bowl.

You don't make a move just to do something.  You make the right move, and you make it when the time is right.

We've seen that happen for three offseasons and it got us a Super Bowl. Why on earth would we change an approach that's working?

Thats it? Casey Hayward, a nickle CB that couldnt beat out 2 rookies last year? He had a great rookie year where he loaded up on picks early on that garnered him alot of attention. We have Bene for that role, we need a #2, not a nickle.

I thought you'd mention Mitchell schwartz since he apparently kept Von Miller in check. But he got paid 33MM over 5 years.

Hayward may have helped but hardly someone to be worried about missing on. Sean Smith would have been better but not at 9MM per year when we're paying Josh 13MM. Id rather us draft a guy at this point anyway.

PS After a quick google I see Hayward wasnt even the nickle CB in 2014, he was relegated to the dime CB, he was GB's 4th rated CB.
