I just want to point out that it's going to be so hilarious to look back on this 10 years from now and see all the people absolutely convinced that the Panthers were just a good 10 year cycle away from a four or five super bowl outburst, knowing we never reached anything close to that height. hopefully we'll be able to squeeze one out now.

oh well. maybe the team we'll have another good season next year, falling just short once again against the elite teams, and we can play out the string again next offseason "you can't insult them like that! look at how great they almost were! how close they almost came!"

The fact that you'd rather see your favorite team suffer over a ten year period just so that you can come onto a message board and say "HEY LOOK GUYZ TOLD YOU SO!!!!" tells me and I would assume the majority of the people on here all I (we) need to know about the type of person you are.

I would recommend you start using some gentler soap on your supple skin

How can anyone suggest this team is building for the future after 3 consecutive division titles, and just had a 15 and 1 season. It sucks we lost the SB but this team is being built right. We will be contenders next year too. All the money spent in a single offseason doesn't guarantee anything. The bottom feeders usually overspend, like we did ourselves after that woefull season. Marty crippled us for years with those contracts. Now we have a guy with the stones to play hardball and you want us to overpay, for what? Whom exactly did you want in FA. Seems to me this years group was a little underwhelming at the positions we need. I mean, we did retain the marquee CB about to hit the market. We got CJ back for pennies on the dollar. We just extended Cam, Luke and Olsen. Weve upgraded DT with Soliai, we don't have alot of holes to fill. Add some cheap veteran DB help like before and were ready to rock and roll. All the while stayin in good cap shape so we can retain our own draftees. It sucks we lost, that doesn't mean what were doing isnt working. Patience grasshopper. Denver took a shellacking 2 years ago and came back and faught tooth and nail the second time around. Hopefully, we learned something too.

Get out of here with that reasonable, rational nonsense.

1) you lost any sliver of plausibility you had remaining in your wellspring the moment you suggested that rebuilding process is indeed a 10 year plan, which would explain a lot about your terrible stance I guess but still doesn't justify it.

2) I'd ask how stupid does one have to be to try and cite the patriots as an example to your point given their constant stream of activity for quality players each offseason, but I guess we established that with point 1.

now make another dumb passive-aggressive vintage 1961 insult for me to roll my eyes and laugh at

It's a plan to be in contention every year, not in ten years.

You do realize we went to the Super Bowl last year, right?

Good grief, you know nothing.

I've been a Panthers fan since I moved to the Carolinas in '02. Just realized the Huddle existed, so I'm new here. But I recognize stupid poo when I see it. This Growl dude right here is 1 IQ point away from sitting in a corner and drooling all over himself, with no logical argument whatsoever.

Growl's logic is to overspend in FA and build up a team for a one time rush at a SuperBowl. Sure, it's worked for the Broncos. It sure won't work out for them next year, however, while the Panthers are still growing and developing their core. They have not peaked yet, and what Gettlemen's doing is just all out magic. Keeping the core together to last a long time, and get repeat after repeat SuperBowls.

The Dolphins, Jags, Saints, etc. have employed that "one time Superbowl rush, overspend in FA" strategy, and for most of the time it didn't work out. Saints have won a SuperBowl, but you don't hear about them anymore, as they've regressed quite rapidly. Panthers are not going anywhere. If anything they're like the Patriots, they're built to last a long time.

Gonna be fun this season watching all the overspenders cave in *cough* Giants *cough* because of bad chemistry, and seeing the Broncos not even make it to the playoffs. Panthers have good chemistry, and a wel developing team. I'm done here.
