Official NFL Free Agency Thread

-->Jason Cole of B/R spoke to three NFL GMs who said they would not sign free agent CB Brent Grimes because of his wife’s antics.

In fact, Cole says that the main reason the Dolphins asked Grimes to take a pay cut and later released him was because of his wife’s actions, which include making threats to reporters around the league.

Cole adds that Grimes is still viewed as a talented player who likely has something to offer a team, but apparently there are enough concerns about his wife to limit his pool of options.

Grimes, 32, was in the third year of his four-year, $32 million contract that included $16 million guaranteed when he released in a move that freed up $6.5 million in available cap space for the Dolphins just a few days ago.

In 2015, Grimes appeared in 15 games and recorded 48 tackles, four interceptions, and 14 pass defenses.

Browsing through the interwebs and I ended up looking at the draft rankings of the 2012 draft. It's amazing to see that 95% of the players are no longer in the NFL. And then you have players like Travis Benjamin and Danny Trevethan ranked really low and signed lucrative contracts this year at their respective positions. It seems only 2 of the top 30 are even worth redrafting in the 1st (Luke and Luck). How lucky are we to have Luke

WHEN, not if, we win multiple rings, Hurney deserves his.

Tannehill, Gilmore, Poe, Cox, Irvin, Ingram, Jones, DeCastro, Hightower, and Smith are 100% worthy of being 1st rounders.

Floyd, Brockers, Kirkpatrick, Wright, Mercilus, Zeitler and Martin are borderline.

It wasn't 2011 but it was a pretty good draft.

oh a lot has went down today funniest one being

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick wants to play for the Browns and has respect for HC Hue Jackson.

Schefter adds that the Browns and 49ers are continuing to discuss a potential trade.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

free agent DE Chris Long has a good visit with the Falcons, but plans to take another two or three visits before deciding on his next team.

Like S ----->Eric Weddle<---- Long is being patient in determining where he’ll end in 2016.

Kaepernick is apparently the only one who wants to play for the Browns.

I wonder if we will give Fairley a look. He would be nasty to pair up with KK on passing downs.

He's kind of a shithead. Gettleman usually stays away from them. He would certainly be a great fit, but I'd be pretty surprised if we went after him.

Good god Janoris Jenkins is an idiot. He signs that 60+ mill dollar deal in NY. A reporter asks him what he could improve upon this upcoming season. He says "um you know just not being lazy at the end of games"

????????? Wtf I would be so pissed if I was a Giants fan.

I don't see much need for Fairley. Wed obviously like a quality rotation at DT, but sign Coples and you get similar quality at all 4 spots.

Again, I really think we should go all in on Casey Hayward. He gives us a vicious trio of CBs next season and ensures we've got quality players there if Norman is gone beyond that.

Well, its not close. Fairley is actually a great player when motivated. Coples is not. I think our locker room will really help a guy like Fairley.
