Official NFL Free Agency Thread

This is a helluva weird offseason.  From the Falcons signing the 3rd WR in Cincy to a 5-yr 32mil deal to the Broncos now having Siemian as their only QB to the likes of Oliver Vernon getting a 15mil+ contract.  I'm relieved to be doing nothing right now.

By the way, we started free agency off with around $1B in league wide cap space. As of now there is around $700M left. Another $200M or so will probably come out of that with more signings/draft picks/in season dealings and the rest is going to roll over into next year. Oh and the cap will probably rise about $15M per team.

We are probably looking at starting 2017 free agency with at least $1.25B, probably much more, in league wide cap space. The money handed out in free agency is only going to get more insane.

none of our WRs have sure hands and none of them are known for their route running.

Olsen has some of the best hands you can find.  Benji was catching every ball thrown his way in a camp and Funch will have a full offseason with coach Proehl.

We had the best offense in the league and you want 35 year old Anquan "Second Coming" Boldin to do what exactly?  Run the 7,8 and 9 routes this offense demands?

or would he be doing the underneath curls, hitches and middle field work like oh I don't know, Greg Olsen?

i'm not sure how to tell you this... but greg olsen is a TE.

boldin would be filling the void that cotchery left: sure-handed vet with excellent route running. he also brings excellent leadership and would be a great presence. you can hope all you that that KB and funchess will have sure hands next year, but the fact of the matter is they haven't shown in on an NFL field yet.

I don't know how to tell you this but with Kelvin back we don't have an extra space to fill.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Seahawks have reached an agreement with WR Jermaine Kearse on a new contract.

It's a 3-year deal for WR Jermaine Kearse and the Seattle #Seahawks. Spent 4 days testing the market and came back.

Looks like Max, 2.5, was trying to learn the 32 @NFL helmets again. #Panthers proved a little tricky.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that Seahawks LT Russell Okung has visited lined up with the Giants and Lions.

  • According to Rapoport, Okung is visiting with the Giants first on Friday.

Last we heard, Rapoport previously reported that Seahawks had made a strong offer to Okung and were working to keep him in Seattle.===

  • Tom Pelissero reports that the 49ers have also reached out Okung.

The Hawks have had their @$$ kicked, chained, and shackled this offseason losing Lynch, Mebane, Irvin, and Sweezy.  Losing Okung and it's truly night night nurse.  Their OL would be beyond pathetic.
