The #Raiders and CB Sean Smith agreed to a 4-year deal worth $40M, source said, with $20M guaranteed...

Should allow the CB market to continue to unfold today.  Interested in where Gettleman will look for either an outside guy or slot guy, Boykin?

Good deal for raiders

I would honestly rather sign Coples and Fairley than Weddle.  I feel like Boston can get the job done at a pretty high level if we can rush the hell out of every QB we are playing.  He did just fine in the Cardinals game when we abusing Palmer.

Fairley isn't going to be a backup.  He went St. Louis and proved he can start, I just don't see it happening.   Coples would be cheap and wouldn't impact a Weddle signing.

I think I'm with you on Boston. I'd really like to have Weddle but Boston is still an improvement over Harper. Strictly looking at bang-for-buck (value), Weddle might not really make sense. Essentially is Weddle's contract equivalent to the difference in Boston and Weddle? I don't know that it would be.

I've got my eye on Casey Hayward. He's a good CB, and he plays inside as well as outside. He's also not a fossil. Sign him and youre great at CB next year and in good position the years beyond that even if Norman leaves next off season.

Would love Hayward.  Imagine going into next year with Norman, Bene, Hayward, and a decent rookie CB?  Good luck, QBs.

Another name to watch for the #Broncos next QB: Brian Hoyer. #Texans expected to part ways with him, perhaps they could get some trade value

If this happens and you never hear from me again it's because I died laughing. If the Texans steal the Broncos heir apparent at QB and then turn around and actually get draft picks in return for trading them Brian freaking Hoyer who they don't want and is godawful to boot, I will lose it. Please let this happen.

It would have been a little bit like getting draft picks for Byron Bell last year in what ended up being our OT swap with Tennessee for Michael Oher!  LOL.

Hayward would be fantastic. He is really an inside only CB which lowers his true value and makes him a perfect fit for us as far as role with Bene going outside and for the money he's worth. He's great in the slot but kinda sucks on the outside. However, the problem is someone will probably overpay thinking that they can make him a good outside CB which would be a mistake. I'd be thrilled if we could get him for his true value, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
