yeah having a quarterback doesn't matter so long as you have an elite defense

e: let's expand on this point-what denver did in 2015 is by and large the exception and not the rule.  that can't consistently be done and teams that try usually suck and fail.  you get far more tampa bay bucs with josh mccown situations than you do 2015 broncos.

and besides they had a freaking coach on the field in peyton manning running their team.  possibly the greatest quarterback in terms of the mental side of the game to ever play which is worth a lot even though his body was falling apart.  some rookie isn't likely to be able to duplicate that, especially one at the bottom of the first.
