FA Luxuries...Could a strong addition be on the horizon?

I know its cliche but the proof is in the pudding.

Getts has shown what hes about.  If the money's right and the need is there, boom.  We got a new player.

That's how all this will go.  We will never win a bidding war that will jeopardize the financial security of this franchise.

Maybe we will put up a couple of bucks on a TE like Ladarius Green. I know someone said that the Colts set the TE market, but I don't believe that a team overpaying its own player necessarily sets a market.

Even if Green is out of reach, there are still guys like Marcedes Lewis, Zach Miller and Jermaine Gresham that would absolutely  be strong additions.

He's going to the Steelers.  I'd prefer getting one of these rookie TEs.  They look good in this class.

Thanks. I can't wait to see the numbers.

I get what you're saying about a rookie TE, but you just don't see many rookies come in and light the world on fire. There is a transition period.  There is something to be said about having a seasoned TE who has the ability to catch passes AND block effectively.  The guys that I mentioned are able blockers and pass catchers according to what I've read.  I don't know abot Owen Daniels, but I'd assume he is as good as any of them.  In my opinion, we need a good two year stop-gap that would not only give a rookie time to develop, but just may add enough to get us over the hump offensively to win that Lombardi.

Coby Fleener is still out there also.

Ed Dickson, though a great teammate, is easily upgrade-able with a few bucks.

If Kearse is there for decent money I Would love that pick up, very solid hands and strong.  He has given us fits these past few years.  We probably wont even look at receiver though as bad as we have been wanting it.  Who knows what gettleman will do, if u go by the past he wont look at anything but role players.  I hope he can land another guy on our DL or jn the secondary to come in and play ball like coleman did for us.
