Is that it for FA Dline options since C.J signs?

We need depth still, I'm hoping for both Coples and Love.

Add to that Weddle, Boykins and Gates and this team will be stacked from top to bottom. We'd have zero holes entering the draft.

Gates is staying in SD. Was reported earlier today, just letting you know.

We have developed Addison pretty well. I cold be wrong, but I am thinking that one of our younger guys has upside even higher than Addison's.  G-man has talked up Miley and Cox, and I think that we would be loath to forget the performance of Ryan Delaire against Tampa. Horton is definitely solid against the run.

Right now we have a kind of Frankenstein at DE that consists of several "incomplete" players that can make up a pretty complete whole provided that the coaches manage them correctly come game days.  I think that we pretty much know what Addison and Horton bring (a speed rush and run stopping ability, respectively), but if any one of the others actually develops more of a repertoire of moves, then they could be a future answer. That being said, if we can get Coples in here, then I am pretty sure at least one of them is gone.

I wonder if we'd get a guy like Terrance Knighton or Jason Hatcher just for depth and experience if they come cheap. Old Hogs---err, hog mollies.

pls no.. I am up here in VA and have heard in depth analysis on those guys.. old, broke down and bring nothing else but their experience.. We have experience in spades with CJ, KK and Star. We need to stack up our talent now.

Coples, Love and a DT in the draft.  If a DE falls to us you know Getty will draft him, but he did mention wanting to see more of our young DE's.  Really hoping we can develop at least one of them.

Keep in mind we usually keep 9 D-linemen.

At this point in time we have 2 starting quality DEs in CJ and Ealy. We have 2 quality starters at DT in Stah and KK. We have a bunch of kids we would love to get some reps. The question becomes. Do you go with the kids and hope the development is there? Or do you bring in a couple more Vets to pair with those kids?

I believe we will draft some D-line help. Just not sure how many. I can see 1 DT at least, just in case we want to cover our butts over losing KK in 2 years. Not saying KK IS gone. But he very well may price himself out of our range. And I really wouldn't be too surprised if we drafted a DE if the right kid falls to us.

Hellz bellz. I got no clue. Part of me wants to see what the kids are up to. Part of me wants Coples to throw at the DT position to increase the depth. But all in all. We are close to being set on the D-line. A few more tweaks and we should be good to go.

I think.

I think Coples or another DE and love and another DT. Will be competition for those spots in camp but we'll want to have guys on the roster incase the draft doesn't yield what we want.

The general consensus on the Coples thread was that Ron liked him at DT (at least that was my take away. Most of the mock drafts have us taking a DE in the first round of the draft, for what that's worth (not much). I honestly don't see us bringing in a DE (again Coples is a good pick up as 2nd string DT / possibly a situational DE) via free agency.

Re-sign Love

Cut Horton

Sign Coples

Develop Miley, Cox and Delaire

Draft a DE/DT

That's all we really have to do at this point. Johnson coming back and Ealy breaking out gives us some major wiggle room. At least, this season anyways.

Bullard out of Florida...he can play both
