That is a really good deal for a player, and individual like Mike Tolbert.

People posting pictures of that fumble in the Super Bowl need to log out for awhile. Embarrassing.

Not as embarrassing as Tolbert wiffing on blocks

Doesn't matter when they sign. If they were cut then they don't count toward compensatory picks.

After free agency starts they do. It's why last year we pushed to sign Ginn and Oher before FA started.

Not sure which one of you is correct.  You're both two of my favorite commenters here, you bring a lot of great knowledge.  Pied you both in the meantime while we wait for the verdict.

What you're saying jdpanther5 makes sense, especially in light of what folks were saying this a.m. about our resigning CJ before the 4 p.m. deadline so that he didn't count against our potential comp picks.

Good way to resolve a question like that: Send a Tweet to Bill Voth.

Was kinda hoping we'd let him go and draft Gronkowski, think he's going to be a really good FB/H-Back

Well... I am leaning towards drafting Baby Gronk too.  But I'm glad he'd have Tolbert to play alongside.  The complexity of our run offense means that draftees are not plug & play.  We saw that this year with how few snaps CAP got (not to mention Wegher who got 1 offensive snap, I think?!).  So I'm ok with having both Tolbert & Gronk on the team.  We're always going to have a few players on the 53 who are mostly inactive... (as was Wegher for 18 of 19 games).

That is a pick and choose way to fit your narrative kind of argument.

Were you here blasting Mike Tolbert in 2013 after the Saints game in Charlotte for his crucial blocking role in that final game winning touchdown pass to Hixon?

Very few offensive players in the Super Bowl were without mistakes that led to that unfortunate outcome.
