This sir is what happens when you have a good team destined to compete year in and year out.  Instead of coming off of a 2-14 season and having to overpay people to play for you, we have players leaving millions on the table to stay.

Take note Mr. Norman.  Take note.

CJ and Norman are basically the same age and CJ has already made about $60MM more. I get the sentiment, but completely different situations.

am I the only one that wanted to see the team move on from CJ?

I did until I found out we could have him for $3M instead of $11M. Hell, if it was me I'd have offered $4M and been happy if he took it.

@josephperson

It's a 1-year deal worth $3 million for Charles Johnson, per source. I'm told he turned down offers of $6M a year elsewhere to stay in CLT.

#Gettlemagic

Not possible.  All of the players hate Gettleman.

Josh's situation is different. He has made pretty much nothing (NFL standards, obviously more than many will in their whole lives) so far and probably only has one big contract left in him considering his age. CJ already got his big money. Of course I believe Josh should take $10Mish/year to stay instead of the $14-5M/year he's reportedly looking for as that would still be a pretty huge contract, but I understand him wanting to get what he's worth.

I think its funny how people are saying Gettleman MADE him take a paycut... Gettleman didn't make him do anything, he CHOSE to take half as much to stay where he's been his whole career and possibly when a championship.

I'm as big a supporter of Gettleman as anyone, but give CJ credit where its due.

Gettleman let him walk and stuck to an offer he thought he was worth. CJ doesn't accept a pay cut at all if that didn't happen. Think before you speak next time.
