Gettleman let him walk and stuck to an offer he thought he was worth. CJ doesn't accept a pay cut at all if that didn't happen. Think before you speak next time.

CJ doesn't accept a paycut from the panthers at all unless he chooses too. Think before you speak next time.

I wonder why he only wanted to do a year.

Either he plans on playing his heart out and earning a fat contract, or he wants another shot at the Superbowl and plans to hang it up while he still has his health.

Either way, it saved us $8M by cutting him and resigning him. Can't complain about that.

Much respect for CJ and outright amazement at the job Gettleman is doing.

Cant figure why anyone would call him greedy though, it's a business deal and he got the better end of it with his last contract. That doesn't make him greedy, it makes him smart. I'm glad he's back. At 15 million I wanted him gone, at 3 million I'm stoked he's still here.

Awesome news!  CJ has always been a standup guy, IMO.  He was worth the money he was paid when we paid it to him, but as has been said elsewhere, the production dropped off and no longer justified what he was making.  I am surprised, because i am certain that a team like Tampa offered more, and i don't blame anyone for taking more money, but it goes to show the mutual respect between CJ and the organization.   Welcome back home, Big Money!

As far as we know, that's what was offered.

Given that he was injured most of last year, it's a reasonable offer.
