It's been confirmed he was offered more money, and I would assume more years. With him opening restaurants and yada yada, maybe he's thinking early retirement? Nobody really knows. 

Gman offered a two is my best guess. Big money said if you make it one I will come back. Big money wants to raise his stock a little. CJ hit the market on a year were he only played 8 games. CJ needs a ten sack season before he hits the market.
