here * lol been a long day. I do believe we will sign a vet WR at some point.

I wouldn't be surprised if we signed a vet AND drafted another. We've visited/met with a handful higher ranking WRs in this year's class. Braxton Miller, Sterling Sharp, Tyler Boyd, Laquon Treadwell are all players we've met with so far. All are projected to go in the top 2-3 rounds.

Two of those guys haven't even played in a game for us, nor have they done anything to prove themselves elsewhere.

WR is not a "big" priority but it is a position that needs to be addressed. We do need some better depth options.

Norwood did play in a game last year. He caused Cam to throw an intercept in the end zone. After that he was benched for the rest of the season.

shoulda been ruled a catch

Wouldn't have mattered had it been caught cleanly in the first place. Not the easiest of catches, but far from the hardest.

That said, I like Cotchery and wish him the best.

This was going to happen regardless of how he performed in the SB. Our core of young WR's have developed to the point that we no longer need a band-aid vet like Cotch.

He was, however, a big part of us getting to the Super Bowl at all.

Wonder who we will bring in to replace him. FA or rookie?

The team is really high on Norwood (gave up a draft pick to keep him inactive all year). Cheap, under contract for 2 more years, and he has a skillset very similar to Cotchery - similar measurables too, though Norwood appears to be faster.

He could be a camp body but, I don't know...don't think they'd keep him around all year at the cost of a pick if he wasn't in the long-term plans.

To be fair, he'd been on the roster what 3 weeks?

That botched catch call completely changed the game.  That BS defensive TD was right after that poo.  If they got the call right Denver's D doesn't score that TD (which was an illegal TD in the first place) and we stay on the field and possibly score points.

I wish him the best, but if Cotch catches that ball cleanly it changes the entire game.  That one single fug up snow balled out of control.

Cotch played his part well. Reliable, a veteran presence and made some key catches to keep drives going. Main issue is being painfully slow without the necessary size and strength to compensate. Thanks for being part of this team.

Wonder if Norwood is supposed to be his eventual replacement.
