I was alluding to franchising Toldozer if we could get him franchised under the FB distinction, if there is such a thing.

Having said that, I don't automatically hate someone just because they might no longer be a Panther

Comes down to whether he is seen by management as a value or is someone like a Chris Ivory for instance can come in and contribute the same for less money.

Mike is the glue to our team. He is the swiss army knife to FB's. If he let him leave his production will not be the only thing that would me missed.

No, we can only franchise 1 player per year.  Josh was it.

there's only like 3 teams in the nfl that really use fullbacks. if we want him back we should be able to get him for cheap, probably less than what he's been making the last couple years on his Hurney contract

I was just hoping we wouldn't tag Josh...I know we only have 1 franchise tag that we can use.

i just don't agree that J-No is a top-5 caliber CB and have a feeling we could have done way more with the 14-million we'd be giving Josh.

Id rather be signing middling-tier CB's, knowing that we are gonna be paying KK big money and would have liked to sign an upper-tier DE like Mario and Coples until we can develop the draft picks I know we'll be taking early in this draft.

No one here can make me believe that J-No should be getting paid top-5 CB $ and more than players like Luke and Kalil.

Tolbert is a fan-fave and a playmaker for us. He fits in here and I highly doubt anyone is gonna offer him enough to keep him from signing a fair-market salary from us.

I think he'll be allowed to test the market before our FO gets into contract talks with Tolbert's agent.

I fully expect Tugboat to be a Panther next year unless we sign a hybrid TE to take his roster spot.

I think Simonson ultimately is the answer to our FB issue. He can be both TE and FB. He can catch and block, but is better in the blocking area. He's mostly like Mangum. A TE who was used mostly for his blocking ability than catching ability. Basically we should think of the FB position what Fox used to think of the TE position. Extra blockers that can occasionally catch.
