Maybe I'm just being cynical, but I'm not sure this isn't just speculation wrapped in "fact." I mean, Person earlier tweeted that "Gettleman indicated they won't be big spenders in free agency." Now, that's probably accurate, but of course there was no quote where Dave actually said this.

I'd rather keep Coleman at FS and get a guy like Branch for much less who is a hard hitter. Two FS will take some physicality away. And if Person says it, the credibility drops so much I give it little to no chance of happening.

CB is a bigger need than S right now. I'm comfortable with Boston/Coleman at safety right now. We still have a young guy in Marlowe too.

Corner is only a big need if we're assuming that Josh is definitely only a 1 year rental, which I don't think is set in stone. As far as an immediate need, safety is definitely bigger. Harper wasn't great but he was better than Boston and it was still a weakness. Boston could improve this offseason, and I really like him, but adding Weddle would be a huge upgrade.

I'd love Weddle if he's here on a short term and cheap deal. Gman won't overspend to get a free agent.

I certainly wouldn't mind adding Weddle if the $$$ is right, but Boston is going into his 3rd year and I think he could be at least a serviceable replacement for Harper. I think we need another CB for depth at least even if JNo stays for the long run.
