He wasn't anything special even with Favre/Rodgers throwing him the ball. And he was actually solid in Minnesota despite poor QB play. I would still welcome him here to replace Cotch to be honest. At vet min though.

fug that would rather take Roddy White, at least he still has a little left in the tank, Jennings will be 4th or 5th string on some crappy team next year then that will probably be it. You gotta be willing to pay more than the vet minimum though, most players that late in their careers would rather retire than play for the vet min.

Then retire it shall be.

Paying big bucks for a couple of stars on a team, with the exception of QB, is a waste of time, money and potential. You're better off with a star/franchise QB, one defensive leader (usually MLB) and a seasoned vet, team-first guy anchoring your O-line. Then spread the money around evenly for a good mix of solid, moderately priced vets that play steady and a good number of first and second year players on moderate contracts.

Patriots have been doing it for a decade and a half, the Colts did it throughout Manning's tenure, Green Bay's been doing it forever and we're building that here. It works and creates a steadily winning team that makes regular appearances in the playoffs.

Or you can do like the Eagles, Dolphins, Lions, Cowboys and Redskins, where they regularly overpay for multiple players, hype "stars" for jersey sales and just can't seem to put it together for the long run.

Jennings, meh. Give me a fourth year player who has some speed and good hands who is willing to be coached on a prove it contract.  Or do a Moose or Ginn and bring back a player who has gone elsewhere, gotten the big check and is missing home.

White was just as bad as Jennings this year, though I probably would rather have him as well since he knows the division. Would rather have Colston over both of these guys if we go for a vet though. Boldin's my top choice if he wants to keep playing. I do think we need a veteran wideout though to replace Cotch. They would play for vet min to get a shot at a ring here.
