I got fired from my job today - here's a long-ass post/release of steam

Ah, yes, the good ol' Koury mentality lives on. Corporate F&B sucks my friend and I feel for ya.

I knew someone who began their bartending career with Koury back in the early 90's and it was a corporate shithole then as it is now... and that was before the old man passed. Always good money to be made, but the management mentality believed as long as you were making that kind of money, they could treat you however they wanted, knowing you'd swallow a lot more poo.

Take some time to get above and beyond and then move forward. Anger, justified or not, will always cloud your vision and you need to see what's in front of you clearly.

Hate to hear it man, good luck, you will land on your feet.

Just a reminder guy and gals, please start saving some money....please.  Try to get to a point where you have at least 90 days worth of living expenses saved up, even if that means cutting cable, internet, etc....to make it work.

Not only will it give you freedom to not be stuck to a terrible job, it's makes it a bit easier to sleep every night.

Sorry to hear that. You're one hell of a dude and i'm sure you're get a job/career going in no time.

I say we get a gofundme page set up here on the Huddle and we open up your own bar for Panthers fans only and open right next door to that jackass former employer of yours.

Sorry to hear it, Phil.

My ex-wife had a friend whose husband was like that guy.  Anywhere they went he'd try and find something to complain about, always trying to get a free meal.  Embarrassed the daylights out of me when we were with them.  Happily I don't have to deal with that anymore.

As others have said, sometimes it can lead to better things.  Hope that's the case for you.

I have seen people like that a few times.  I had a table beside one gentleman who was berating some poor girl  After he ripped her over something that was in no way her fault, I made a point of tipping her extra and proclaimed very loudly (made sure he heard it) that she was one of the best waitresses I have ever had.

Was at a restaurant a few months ago where a lady who looked like she hadn't missed many meals told the waiter that her food tasted lousy (must have taken a lot of effort to eat every last bite of it like she did) and that she wasn't going to pay. She even yelled and threw her drink at him. And she was sitting in the middle of her family when all this went down.

Some people are just terrible.
