Voth: CJ open to coming back

Not gonna happen. Those press releases that say there is a possibility of said player coming back, after being let go always annoy me. Just say you decided to move on and keep it moving. No team is gonna let a player count as dead money after a release and bring him back later.......good luck Chuck.

I'm not predicting or hoping for him to return but that dead money counts no matter what happens with him. Dead money is not the issue.. It was paid to him years ago.

First of all, the majority here would take money over the other option, so i don't get the double standard.

I don't blame him wanting to find out his value.

Stop acting scorned.

Billy Joe caught up with her the very next day
They got the money, hey, you know they got away

i don't get this. how much is he going to come back for? will the salary he comes back for plus the dead money allocated to him be that big of a difference? i don't see it happening but who knows.

Without getting cut: 11M from this year's salary plus 4M against the cap for old bonuses.

After cut resign: 4M in dead money plus whatever the new contract is.

So basically anything under 11M we can bring him back for is a saving.

I think his production merits around 7M, but given that the Bears prayed Allen 10M last year someone will most likely overpay. And if not and we bring him back, the saving will be noticeable.

If this was 2-3 years ago I'd understand. He already made his cash. If he wants a ring.. You have to think of the bigger picture. He's not hurting for money. He only has one more thing to prove, that's getting a ring. What other teams would be contenders AND be able to pay him what he wants?  Probably none..just do the smart thing CJ,  don't get greedy.
