I don't know, with Norman getting the tag all those guys are now under contract for at least another year. So, any extension wouldn't add much to the cap THIS year, only signing bonuses, which are amortized over the life of the contract so that wouldn't take up too much space.

Obviously Short is part of it, and we can always roll over this money to next season when it'll be more needed, but it just seems like doing all this now hints at something more short term. Maybe not any one big signing, but I expect us to be a little more active in FA, especially in the DE market.

No one cares how you got to the league once you hit the field. Udfa, 1st round pick, or Mr irrelevant. You need to produce and Chandler was god awful.
