I'm still in favor of a cheap Coples signing and IF Mario comes at a reasonable (by NFL standards) price signing. I'm a self admitted Tar Heel so I've watched both of these guys and I feel as though both would thrive in our system. They aren't 3-4 guys....they're hand in the dirt pass rushers. The exact same can be said about Jadeveon Clowney but that's for another time.

If Coples is in good shape I don't see how they don't sign him at this point.  I still think Mario Williams is up for consideration.

Loved CJ wish him all the best. But he was not worth the money. He's an old 29 with the injuries he's had and the amount of playing time he's had.

Meh, everyone knew Smitty still had something left in the tank, he just had an injury plagued 2013. Couple that with the fact we cut him so he could use it as anger aggression against anyone who played him, there was no doubt he was going to have a good year. 

Williams was a fat ass who got cut because he was complacent, realized "oh poo, maybe I should try harder", lost 15 lbs in the offseason and showed up to the steelers in the best shape he's been in since 2008.

Johnson has been hit by the injury bug the past few years. Soft tissue injures to boot, which is never good. I think skill wise, he still has something left in the tank, it's just a matter of will his body hold up for him with his next team.

Actually wouldn't mind seeing him cut and bringing in someone cheaper.  He had a uptick last season don't expect the same this season.

Couple of things.

bittersweet about CJ, contract aside. He gave his all, 100% of the time. Was a great leader for this team. Great ambassador for the team with his charities. It's business and it seems like CJ gets that from his tweets. We won't see a smitty or dlo offseason from him I don't think.

two I see a lot of talk about kalil being axed next year. I don't see it as it stands right now. He is coming off an all-pro year, his contract is in line with the best centers in football. Now his play could decline as he is getting up in age, but as it stands right now he is worthy of his contract.
