Just to remind everyone....Gettleman doesn't play. Produce up to your contract's standards, or you're gone.

If Stew didn't have that monster year, his name would be on there to.  Like he said, it's not about how much you make... it's about your production.  Does it add up?  No?  Get to steppin.

#Panthers offered Charles Johnson a pay cut before releasing him, I'm told. Not out of the question he ends up back there in free agency.

Sometimes a player has to hit the open market to realize an offer was in line with market prices.

or

We lowballed him and he can make a lot more elsewhere.

Either way it is the business side of football.  He played a lot of good football for us over the years.  I wish him the best.

Moves like this is why the team has a nice open window to win it all. We aren't overpaying for sentiment, Gettie doesn't care, he's going Hebrew national on you if you think you're going to get paid and rest on your laurels

Man...now I want a hot dog...

Some of the media guys are already saying it...but yeah, this cap savings will be going to KK. As it should. Give me 5 more years of KK over any FA signing.

That'd be a hell of a signing bonus if it took up all $11M - being that bonuses can be amortized over 5 years - so 1/5 of his bonus would be the only money that will hit the cap before the extension actually begins next season.

Not saying this means a shopping spree, but I think at least some of that will be used short-term.

Gettleman is literally the antithesis to Hurney. Keeps it completely unemotional and business only, and won't overpay for aging stars. I wish CJ the best, but I'm glad we have our ballsy GM that plays the hard line.

Next man up - Ealy go!
