I think this was an easy decision. Although he was active for 9 games last season, his production wasn't significant. We save a crap load of $ and may get more value at the position with a FA or draft pick.

Wish Charles Johnson the best on his remaining career.  He is still a functioning DE in the NFL with several years left.  It was just a business decision and with being almost 30 and injuries and lack of product the past year or so, G-Man had to do whats best for the team and I am definitely with that.   I just hope with CJ, Dwan, and Jared Allen being gone and freeing up 21.2 million in CAP that G-Man takes the necessary moves to fill those spots.  I have total trust in GettleMagic and can't wait to see what happens.  I could see a Coples sigining and a 1st round DE draft pick to help.

I am looking for the updated CAP space numbers.  After Tagging J-No we were around like 15ish million and now releasing CJ (11 mill), Chandler (1.3), and Edwards (1.6 mill) we should in the ball park of having about $25 mill.  Please correct me if someone has update, I did that off top of my head.  searching for updates now...
