I've got no sympathy for CJ. He's already made his fair share and he's been terrible over the past 2 seasons. If he wants to go to a crap team for some extra cash over taking a pay cut, staying with the Panthers, and having a chance to win a ring then so be it.

It might be a blessing in disguise. Now the DE position will undoubtedly get addressed where as if CJ restructured we might've been grasping at straws hoping he becomes serviceable again. Most likely we would've just wasted a bunch of snaps on him again with no production.

I would not rule out JAX at least looking at him, they almost have to spend some of their money and could use a vet DE to groom Fowler since he didnt play last year

Yes I know. Was a couple days after he was released though. CJ could choose to do the same now, though I doubt it.

This was probably the right call even if he agreed to take a pay cut, Kony Ealy is ready and there are some pretty nice options in FA that would all be cheaper and likely more productive than CJ. 

So glad we no longer keep guys around for sentimental reasons. 

Appreciate everything CJ has done for us, but it was time to move on.
