Can't see him getting anything close to what he thinks he's worth, never really saw him as much of a "team" player even though his teammates voted him captain. Can finally sign some guys that can actually produce.

Johnson had a cap figure of $15 million. His release will save Carolina about $11 million under the salary cap.

The Panthers wanted CJ back, but at a lower cost. Obviously numbers didn’t match. CAR will add 11 mil to cap space now with release.
