Roddy White Released

He will be a Buc.

 

White is an emotional guy....he called out his coaching staff and Ryan a few times last season,  for utilizing a play style that phases him out,  almost completely.    He is going to have a Steve Smith type of 1st year with whatever team picks him up,  just to desperately try and prove his former team wrong.    It won't be to the level of SS89,  but I think it will be around 950 yards,  8 TD.

 

If we pick him up,  and G-man feels he can be our Cotch replacement (Older possession receiver,   vet).  I would not complain.         I'd feel like that bastard would have two  100+ yard games against the Falcons next season.

Roddy is cool. Went to HS with him on James Island. He's from the Carolinas. I could see a one year deal.

I learned long ago that "Friends is friends, but business is business" 

The Falcons have plenty of cap space. More than we did before tagging Josh. Roddy was going to cost $5-6 million next year. Not really that much when the team has $30+ million in space. But they cut him with no replacement on the roster. No contract re-negotiation, either. Makes me wonder, why he was cut when money doesn't appear to be a big hurdle?

Then I vaguely remember something about a locker room interview with the media last season in which ( IIRC ) he openly questioned his QB, teammates, and/or the coaching staff. That sounds like he became a locker-room cancer, and I don't want that infecting ours. Doesn't send the right message to the players already here about what we expect our locker room to be.

Besides, he'll probably want to play with Tampa more, since his former OC Koetter is the HC there now. Roddy's numbers plummeted this year when Kyle Shanahan took over as OC in the new Quinn regime, and re-uniting with his former OC will be his attempt to find the Fountain of Middle Age

Yeah I get that and Im not disagreeing. Doesn't mean a 1 year deal would make me upset. Roddy may want to play for a contender though. It's all conjecture at this point.

To make this post on topic, let's talk about how Roddy defended Vick torturing dogs like this one. And how he defended Peterson for attacking his kid's testicles. These are only two things that spring to mind first in his many years of being a piece of poo.

Roddy is an amoral scumbag who this franchise wouldn't touch with a 10 foot hickory switch to the scrotum.
