Mike & Mike on Jake......

I really can't imagine them putting in Feeley over Moore if Delhomme performs terribly again. Feeley has even said he hopes he doesn't have to play this season and is right now in an information overload. Moore has experience in the system and with the players at least. All we'd have to do is do what we did with Delhomme in 03. Let him hand the ball off and make relatively safe passes to Smith and Moose.

If Delhomme throws a TD or two, I'm afraid that will extend his leash back out to previous levels even if he has 2-3 interceptions.

Ive read, re-read, and read it again and I just cant find any where he even suggests that this was the first Panthers game he watched...

Ive got a lot of respect for Jaws as well and I admit that him saying it puts a little more weight to the opinion.

I just never cease to be amazed at how polarizing Whitlock can be. Sure hes said some dumb things but since he fell out with Scoop Jackson people seem to really hate him and I think that's funny.

He's national media, and he's never gave a flip about us or mentioned us before until this week when it became popular (at least that I remember). All the shows I've ever seen him on, he's never mentioned us. It's just cool to do it now... That's what pisses me off.

He didn't say "I haven't watched a Panthers game." But, IMO, didn't have to... Saying Jake was a career backup masquerading as a starter and has been exposed told me he hasn't watched a Panthers game. He apparently didn't watch 2004 when Smitty went out for the year and Jake was slinging it all over the field and we almost turned it around and made the playoffs. Put Moose in the Pro Bowl (should have put him in there too, but he got it the next year).

Like I pointed out, the winning percentage, the 4th quarter comebacks, and overall statistics put Jake in the Top 10 QBs consistently during his tenure as our starter. Yet, he's a career backup who clumsily stumbled upon 1 of 32 jobs that have plenty of applicants? lol... That's how I know Whitlock hasn't watched our games, but instead chose to jump in the bash with the other cool media types.

No doubt, Jake deserves some criticism, and I've been the first to give it (check gameday threads, lol). But, to have this fat f*ck that has no idea what our team has done besides that Superbowl run, comment on the situation is irrelevant.

And BTW, I have no idea about a fallout between him and Scoop. And honestly, I used to respect Scoop when he was exclusively writing for Slam, but I've lost pretty much all respect for him too b/c of that garbage he participates in for ESPN.

When I first heard of Whitlock I was somewhat interested in the social commentary he worked into his articles so I read his stuff and paid attention when he was on the tube. Hes not my favorite sports writer but one of the folks whose articles I read.

As I recall he has never much liked Jake and not had much good to say about him even when he was wining. Seems like during our 2005 run I heard/read him call Jake a fake - espn.com/Sports Reporters/radio- but cant be positive.

Like I said before, Im just entertained at how negatively people react to him. I cant name a single other writer that catches quite as much poo as he does.

I gotcha...

I gave him a fair shot, but like most other dumbasses they put on ESPN, he eventually turned out to be another blowhard. It just seems once those guys get on that network, they end up forgetting what got them there. Skip Bayless, Stephen A. Smith, etc. They all end up going from credible sports writers to over-opinionated wannabe celebrities. Their shtick gets old. I just got to the point where I'm tired of hearing what any of them say.

I mostly find the former athletes opinions holding a lot more weight and insight then the sportswriters. Maybe the sportswriter guys think they're in danger of losing their jobs so they'll say whatever to try and polarize people and keep their jobs by getting some kind of attention.

I don't care for any of them anymore.

Golic was a ok player in his day nopthing special.

Greenie is a puss who hasn't got a clue the damn ball even has air in it!!!

Jaws is a Philly lover (ie started for them for years) His opion on Jake does hold a lil more water than most, but if he is so damn good with QB's why didn't he take the QB coaching job offered to him this offseason by KC????

Back to Jake.

He can still win games in this league. He has done all of this before. He is not a carry the team on his back QB.He has never been that, hell there is only a few in the league that can do that. What he can be is part of the process which they need to get back to.He is a much better QB when we run the ball and keep it 3rd and 4 or less. When we get to 3rd and 6 to 10 he is a draw play away form a mistake. This hasn't changed over the years.Yes he can convert on a few of them but more times than not he want.I think part of this is coaching and Jake stubborness of looking only for Smitty. The TE has to be utilized more in this offense. The TE can be a QB's 2nd best friend behind the running game.Start running the ball and hitting the TE over the middle(Short) and the outside will free up for Smitty IMHO.The Backs need to be used more in this offense. In the flat or over the middle for a dump off.Spread the ball around a bit.

Run 1st and 2nd and pass to Smitty on 3rd is about all the creativity our OC can come up with.Hell that was Hennings play book as well.Time for a few new plays!!!!

:nopity: Same old story all this week. I think if Jake has one more bad game. Then his season should be done unless the other QBs some how get hurt. Because If we are to have any chance of a winning season. Then it is time for them to put in Matt Moore. If they put in AJ Feely before Matt Moore who has been here alot longer and knows the playbook inside and out. The I begin to question the whole Panther franchise on all levels. Matt Moore deserves a chance like Jake got back 7 years ago in the Jags game. Jake delhomme is now the Rodney Pete of Today. And Matt Moore could be the Jake Delhomme of today. Give Matt Moore a chance panthers.
