Reports out that Panthers have Quinton Coples in for physical. That'd make sense. His struggles in NYJ seemed to be related to position move

Same kind of thing with Olsen, IIRC... Quite a few wanted Greg but we took Beason. A few years later we got the beast of a TE in 88....

Yeah, a lot of Jets fans seem to think that inside is where he was his best. He struggled as a 3-4 OLB and wasn't very good as  a 4-3 DE when they ran those fronts.

Ah, that makes more sense then. 

I don't care where he plays for us. He has a chance to play at a very high level in rotation with our guys.

Under this coaching staff Coples has a high ceiling and we get him on the cheap. Could be the Ted Ginn of our defense.

This is the same event we had last year with Oher.  This is a top talent that has lost his way. G'man sees and understands this.   Getting him in and signed before free agency starts.

I believe Rivera and McDermott believe he has what we need.  Not just a name as a first round talent.
