Anybody wanna sum up these last 13 pages for me?  I offer pie.

Coples in to get physical.

Oh yes, this is great. Typical Gettleman signing.

We passed on him to get Kuechly, but were high on him.

Is he a DT or DE? Could play both in certain packages.

What a Dline this would be.

Coples left without signing.

I know physicals are SOP, but are there any concerns about his physical condition?  Does he want to sign here?

Should have no problem with the physical. He is clean off the field. On the field there are questions about motivation and effort. Was misused as a 3-4 OLB. Better suited in a 4-3. At DE or 3T DT is the question. Can play both and DE is the bigger need but he might be better inside due to him being more of a power player rather than a twitchy edge rusher. Typical Gettleman signing to get a high potential draft bust on the cheap that we can turn into a stud.

As good of a summary as I can do.

He was my first choice at our pick in 2012. I had

1. Coples

2.Fletcher Cox

3. Luke

Obviously I have no clue what I'm doing, but I still think he'd be an excellent fit here. Would love for a multi year deal.

I really didn't want to draft him because his brand just disturbs me. I'm not even sure I want to sign him even knowing that's it probably a really good idea.

Yes, I am fully aware I'm superficial and have issues.

I can't look at his arms. I would rather  look at JPPs blown off hand. I would rather have Coples though. Just wish we could put in his contract to keep his arms covered

Hes a DT in 4-3, why is everyone talking DE? 3tech DTs are KK and Edwards are here and staying.

Edwards is 34.  As you saw when we released Colin Cole during the season, if Panthers can get younger and better at Dline, they will.  And of course KK & Star are entering contract years, so adding depth makes sense.  Even though Edwards has been solid and his contract isn't up this season, I could see us releasing him if other, better players are available.  Let Edwards & Coples compete in camp.... Don't take any player on the roster (except perhaps Cam & Luke) for granted.  Competition for all.
