I seriously hope Standard isn't serious with those posts.  Coleman was a good pickup, and had a lot of ints, but he also was out of position a lot.

I really think people are dismissing a top CB far too quick.   The ability to take a QB's #1 option away most of the time is invaluable.

I don't blame Josh for wanting all he can get.  He could play the first play of the year and get hurt and never play again.   The Panthers had their chance to sign him before last season and they didn't offer enough.  Norman bet on himself and proved that he is, who he thinks he is.

And seriously questioning this guy in the locker room?  Did you see the videos of Norman being more upset about losing the SB than anyone else?  Just stop.

1st off, half the time, Norman didn't even cover the opposition's #1. He played his side of the field and if that guy was their #1, then that's who he guarded.

Secondly, anyone who knows anything about this team realizes how much help he got from TD, Luke and Star/Short...so it's not like he's out on an island like we see from Revis and Patterson.

Hes not top-5 and I know this because of the statements I made in the previous paragraph.

Because it's as pathetic as a shameless guy begging to his ex to take him back. Josh is gone. He wants money. Carolina doesn't have it. Why prolong the inevitable? Get compensation for him now while his stock is at an all-time high.

Negotiating a contract is like begging an ex to take you back? What the what? Of course he wants money. So does every player in the NFL. Carolina does have the money to pay him. It is just a matter of coming to terms that both sides agree on. Ya know, kind like negotiating.

As a team, we scored the most points. That is different than having the #1 offense.

Carolina was the best and most balanced offense in the league. Name a better offensive team and quit putting asterisks that move.the bar around to try and prove your argument.

most of our games were basically over by halftime and that's the reason why we'd give up so many scores late in the game...it was because we had huge leads and our guys just got to half-ass for good portions of the game, offense included.

He played the best receiver on the outside. He moved to the side of the #1 and if they moved to the slot, he stayed on the outside. And after 4 interceptions and multiple touchdowns, they stopped throwing at him so much. That is called shutting down half the field. Of course he got help from his teammates. That is why they are teammates.

We do have money but you know damn well Josh wants to be paid like a QB. Not. Gonna. Happen. If the rumors are true of him rejecting 7-10 million, then yeah, ship his ass away. Gettleman isn't going to break the bank for a DB. I love Norman but he has to realize he has it really, really good in Carolina. He's on a team with a franchise QB who just recently won league MVP and plays behind the best LBs and DTs in the game today.

Paying him 13-14 million average salary is not too much what he does. We can just agree to disagree, but turning down 7 million before last year has nothing to do with this year.

First, nope, you are wrong.  Norman didn't play slot, but he moved to whatever side the #1 was on.  Most CB's don't follow in the slot.

Second, Short got help from Star, and Short also get help from Norman's coverage, as well as Short helped Norman.  It's a team.  This pass rush wasn't the best this year, a lot of the sacks were coverage sacks, which you can thank to Norman.  Without Norman on this team, we would have gave up a LOT of points, I promise you.   Luke was out three weeks and Norman still played like a monster.   Short/Star and our whole d-line heavily rotate.  I didn't see Josh's play go down when people were rotating in and out.

So yes, from last year's play, Norman IS a top 5, if you go by the last year.  It's pretty dumb and rude to diminish his play last year because apparently, you just don't like him personally?  (judging by the fact you think he's a problem in the locker room, which he isn't, or a normal scrum with the QB (most QBs don't go down the field) whereas both as friends now and joke about it).

No question he is worth that and his performance last year was worth that. The issue is how long will he be worth that. If he regresses in 3 years to an above average CB at age 30 or 31, but is still getting $14M per year with a big dead money hit to cut him then it's a problem.
