Alshon Jeffrey is off the market, he has been hit with the franchise tag

Bear fan here, want to chime in on AJ. real quick. Also.big congrats on a great '15 season.

First, Jeffery is not actually off the market, as he got the non-exclusive tag, meaning he can still negotiate with other teams.

Bears can receive 2 firsts outright from the team that signs AJ., if they choose not to negotiate a trade. However If a top 10 drafting team, for example, wanted to sign AJ then Bears would listen to a deal, instead of forcing the team to shy away from signing Alshon ,From the Panthers pov, they start with the 30th pick.  That won't be enough for Chicago, most likely. Now If expectations are met in the upcoming season, the Panthers would have a late 20s selection (at worst) for 2017, (which is equivalent in value to a 2nd rounder for 2016). Basically the Panthers would have to give up their 1 & 2 for this upcoming draft, or back to back late 1st round picks..

Is that worth a young pro bowl WR?   If that's what you feel will take Carolina over the hump, its obviously a great deal, As a Bear fan I'd love to keep AJ but not sure if he wants to stay in CHI.

The Panthers do not need to pay or trade for Alshon.  Two first rounders lol, never.  We have two big 6'5ish WRs, one who has a higher ceiling than even Alshon.  The Panthers need exactly what they said they needed last year..Speed.  They need to from someone to take the Ginn roll next year who can take the top of a defense, and can catch better ( nothing against Ginn he is what he's always been )

Alshon while a very good player isn't what the Panthers need at all. We need another TE who can catch and block. Not sure who will be available in free agency but if anyone good is out there I hope that's where we make a "splash" signing.

Sad that one of the greatest WR in the NFL that will have a long steady career of big plays is with a dick Jay Cutler and an awful Chicago team in a cold ass windy city. Hate it for the big guy. I could not imagine being hit with a franchise tag in a place you don't want or need to be at.

This guy would have first downs of 3rd and 16s from a spin rush sack off Remmers 2nd down. He is a master in the red zone. Humble low key guy. He won't be doing no OBJ poo thats for sure. Reminds me of Andre Johnson.

I can tell you Dave Gettleman isn't trading away two first round picks for anybody.
