Draft is deep at DT & C

From all I've read the draft is deep at two positions that the Panthers are/will be paying big money too.  A Kalil replacement is a real possibility in this draft and a viable talent at the position looks like a big need for this team.  We may actually also choose a player who could try and  replace Star or KK if we can't afford both.  I hope we can, but good to know this draft has deep talent in areas we need.

I'd look for us to draft a mid round guy that can play both C and G. Backups need to be versatile on the OL for this team, and the more positions you play the better shot you have of sticking around. Guy might have potential to play in the future but would be depth for the time being.

I would not be surprised if we drafted another DT for Depth. I'm not sure if Dwan is under contract again this year but he's getting up there in age and we could use another cog on the line.

We are in good shape to sign both......just not to dumb contracts.Plenty of room to give them fair contracts

Think we sign both star and kk

But think we look at one in round 2 or 3.  There could very well be a first round talent at us in the 2nd.  Love was alright this year but depth at DT was possibly our biggest weakness in D.  When our corners were healthy they were good we just were unfortunately hit so hard with injuries we were pulling guys out if retirement and the practice squad.  Our DT'S got less and less pressure as the game went on.  Stars biggest weakness has always been getting tired with too many snaps, and even coming out of the draft many scouts said we should limit his snaps slightly more than most DT'S.  Being able to rotate a guy in who's a first round talent would be massive.

I'd like to see Kalil get a 2 year extension. I think he's got 3 years left. Drafting a C early is a waste because you can't even slot them at G until Kalil retires because we've already got 2 studs there. 5th round that can backup all 3 interior positions? Sure, but definitely not before the 4th.

Neither would be a bad thing. Ryan Kalil has been playing for nearly a decade now and I don't see how we can afford to keep both Star and Short.

Kalil is in his prime...I guess it's time to look at the law of diminishing returns from him.

Last year we took Shaq to replace TD in a couple years, so I'm thinking we'll be looking at a starting-caliber player who actually gets in-game snaps, while prepping to replace one of our core players.

If we keep CJ, it makes sense to draft a 3-tech player who can get into the rotation and replace one of our core starters sooner rather than later.

Wasnt Remmers playing backup center or was that someone else?

Our most present need is at safety and DL with a dash of CBs and OL.

I think we'll try to keep both Star and Short as long as we can. This team is built right up the middle on both sides of the ball and I think we keep that fundamental philosophy.
