Extend him? Yes, but let's not go overboard with the number of years. You may love Ron now but something like back to back losing seasons and we may regret a long extension.

We haven't had back to back winning seasons yet, but I think that's about to change.

I am eating my crow on Ron and enjoying every bite of it.

Number of years really don't matter for coaches.

It's more from an organizational standpoint. Extending someone for, say, 5 years only to fire them after the second year doesn't look good. Unlikely scenario in our case but you never can tell.

At the least, I'd rather have Ron than an early years John Fox. I get the impression Ron is more willing to adapt and learn as a head coach.

Pretty much what we did with Capers.  Big extension, fired after 2nd year into the contract.  I don't think we stopped paying him until he got the HC job with the Texans.

I'd say "unlikely" is an understatement.

Rivera and Gettleman have a great working relationship and they're getting results. Yes, things can change but even if we start to decline, I feel like the relationship between the two of them is solid enough that they'll try to hammer out a solution together without any finger pointing.
