Ronnie, despite all his flaws, is the best coach for this team. He deserves every penny.

That is a typical crap huddle post.  Despite his flaws???  He is just a great coach and needs no qualifiers.  You are another poster who should be eating some crow after all the crap you gave him and Shula.  Funny how you make excuses for Cam at every turn and give only qualified praise to the coaches who have made Cam who he is.

Let's not forget that he's won coach of the year 2 of the last 3 years. The man needs to get paid!

wanted him fired in 2012.

and again in 2013.

and again in 2014.

please forgive me ron.

Takes a man to put it out on Front Street.

You weren't the only one. I remember many posts reflecting those feelings and even threads started about possible replacements.

Ron had everything but the experience, and J-Rich's and G-man's patience and foresight thankfully won the day.

A lot of people saying "I'll take my serving of crow". Guys... we weren't at fault for feeling that way. We had every right to feel that way back then. But as Coach himself has said, he grew. He realized the way he was doing things wasn't working and that he had to get aggressive. He did, and look where we are now.

Extend him? Yes, but let's not go overboard with the number of years. You may love Ron now but something like back to back losing seasons and we may regret a long extension.

Number of years really don't matter for coaches.

The point I kept saying is that when you hire a coordinator with no head coaching experience you have to give him time to develop and grow. He had the right attributes to be a great head coach and was a great defensive coordinator. And he proved me right. Being aggressive and being Riverboat Ron are not why he is a great coach or why he turned things around. They make great headlines but are overblown when he acts that way once or twice a game at most.

What makes him great is his philosophy and how he gets everyone to buy in and give 100%. His players play for each other not themselves. In the business of the NFL it is rare to see players risk their health and future for the sake of the team.
