72 Dolphins....three, yes three, 1,000 yard rushers in 14-game season

75 Cardinals....six sacks allowed in 14-game season

Thats tough, probably 72 Phins, just because they went undefeated.

The former, because back then defenses were allowed to play real football, not flag football. Yeah very low sack totals are impressive but my issue with that is back in that era, sacks weren't really a huge deal like they are now, as passing offenses weren't as key to a team's success as running the ball was. Every team back then worked hard to do one thing, stop the opponent's run game.

Who cares about sacks if you've got three 1,000 yard rushers on the team? Definitely the 1972 Dolphins.

The 72 Dolphins passed 259 times for 2076 yards (11.5 avg) and ran 613 times for 2960 yards (4.8 avg), 21 sacks (1 sack per 12 pass att)

The 75 Cardinals passed 355 times for 2553 yards (7.2 avg) and ran 555 times for 2402 yards (4.3 avg), 6 sacks (1 sack per 59 pass att)

So, the 'phins O Line was a far superior run blocking line, and the Cards O Line was a far superior pass blocking line.

Looks to me like the 'Phins O Line was superior on all accounts, but should be put into the context of the opposing defenses for those years, which I'm not doing :lol;

So Dimbee it appears like the sacks were made up by employing longer passes which were successful.

Guess I'm going to go with the Dolphins as well, though I honestly don't know enough to make what I would consider an intelligent choice.
