How the fug do you know what my standard is AH.

Brown is a good player and obviously much better than you think he is.  They are grooming him and I NEVER implied he has reached his ceiling.  In any sport if you aren't improving you are getting worse.

Many players have had successful careers and ever a few HOFer that weren't your perfect technique players.  Bottom line if he is getting open and catching the ball.  I don't think they have a stat that separates body catches from hand catches.

But then again you "think" you know it all.

Calm down sweetheart. . Nobody curse at your mother we're just disagreeing with what a "good player" is..

31 rec. 445 yards for a #2 isn't good IMHO. ..

That's how I know what your standards are because you think that is good. ..

And try to follow please..

His body catching is causing him to have

Low yards after catch numbers

Make catches harder then they need to be..

Gets him hit more then he would..

Let's defender catch up to him no matter how good of a route he ran..

Don't be salty because I expect more from a player then you..

Ain't your motherfuging sweetheart... .Got that bitch..

#2 is a stretch.  While he may have the starting roll as a #2, the receiving corps was pretty much by committee and no clear #1, #2 or #3.

Not every catch was body catches and your criticism sounds more like hate than acceptance of a solid player.  Considering our luck with WRs other than one name Smith and Moose having an player actually improving should make us happy.

I know you cannot accept the fact the our roster cannot be filled with 53 All Pro and Pro Bowl talent level players but the fact remains players like Brown are the reason why we were successful in 2015.

Your opinion is just that.. your opinion.  Don't disrespect my opinion by accusing me of having lower standards.

It really fuging pisses me off when punks that don't agree with you throw their mindless insults to make their opinion seem more relevant.

Not so far.  He's still on the roster as of today.

But I believe he'll be a free agent, so it's not 100% he's sticking around.

I think it's a pretty safe assumption we give him another minimum deal and let him try to win a spot in camp again this year. Especially if the reports that he looked very promising before his injury are true.

Dude again calm your nerves. . You getting all huffy puffy behind a computer screen for no reason. . Lol

Plain and simple he was the number #2 Wr.. He had more snaps per game then any other WR not name Ginn. . So there is no stretch here.  He had the 2nd most opportunities at that position on the team..

Solid and good are 2 different things.. And let's be honest here we are grading him on a curve because he was undrafted and you didn't expect much from him from the get go.. So don't call me hater for wanting him to get better or we get a better option. .

Oh and you stated you didn't care about body catching. . Well I do and it's general knowledge most teams care as well..

It's a major reason why it's hard for him to make contested reception. .

Thank you for the answer. I may be wrong, but I believe as part of injury settlements, players maintain there spot(IR) with the team until the close of the NFL year. Keeps them from being signed by a playoff team if recovery happens quickly. Figured the settlement part kinda nullified the year for the injured player but allows them to get some compensation without being all out cut.

Without looking, I'm almost certain Hill is listed under dead money....meaning he has been dismissed.....unless we resigned him

Injury settlements are used for players that were put on IR but are then healthy enough to play so they take some money and are free to sign with another team. Hill tore his ACL so he just stayed on IR all year and collected his paycheck while rehabbing. You can't cut an injured player without a settlement/compensation for an injury that occurred on the job. That's not even an NFL rule. That's federal law. Hill was on a 1 year deal so he will be a free agent on March 9th.

Questioning my standard to validate your claim is attacking.

Stating a fact sorry..

But big picture news...... "You don't work in football" . So saying your standard for WR play is low.. Shouldn't have thrown "you" (fan) into a hissy fit.. Plus the fact you're doing all this tough guy talk from behind computer screen.. WHY..lol

You're taking something that isn't personal. ..personally

We disagree over a subject neither of us gets paid for.. No need to pump your chest out and catch feelings for..lol

    • I think the experts overthink it at times.  I am also not sure they measure things that matter, and if you measure things that don't really matter, it can cause your board to fluctuate--you are creating bias using facts that are assumed to equate to performance.  Football is an emotional game, and if I were a GM, I would measure emotional intelligence.  I would measure (if this can be measured) the speed of conversion from a concept (technical/mechanics) to muscle memory.  I would watch film and time how long it takes a qb to get to their second and third reads--how long does it take an ILB to make the first step and how often do they false step.  How often does a WR bobble a pass vs. clean catches? Examples, but there has to be something we are not measuring that would improve our success rates in drafts.
