Are you saying that Funchess was better in terms of drops and 1st down percentage. The debate is not on how much he was used, but how effective he was when used. And he was pretty damn effective. 

The facts are he took more snaps than almost any WR on the team and he still couldn't muster up decent numbers. When Philly got hurt Funchess came in and out produced him in those 2 games. Go look at his game log there were games where he only had 2 or 3 catches for 20 yards, that's horrible for a number 2

 

And his first down numbers are scewed, our offense is based a on passing deep of course he's gonna have a ton of first downs catches

I think Philly can help this offense. He has progressed every season. He should be a fourth receiver who can stretch the field. Should he be counted on to carry the offense, no. I still feel the Panthers need get a gamebreaker in the return game, if that guy were hypothetically a receiver than Philly may be odd man out.

Yea he is a huge matchup problem in the slot. I really hope we sign or draft one more WR though because we still need to improve in that area.

The hate is real. Lol, the funny thing is some people on this thread refuse to admit that Philly was very effective this year as well as in the Super Bowl. People feel that he should compete for a roster spot...He did that already it's called being undrafted and give yourself an opportunity to make the team. If Philly was one of those guys that was drafted we would be singing praises and yes he had an awful pre-season which we killed him for but never too many mentioned that he made it more than half way through the season without a drop. Just for the record as well people are saying can't wait until we get KB back this year and thought that Philly and Ginn were a laughing stock. Well guess what we made it the Super Bowl without KB let's see if we can make it back with him.

I am sure that more than 1 WR will be brought in, either through the draft or FA. There will already be competition, as we have 2 WR coming back from injury, and only lost 1.

True Statement....But I am sure he will get picked up somewhere...3 things he showed this year regardless of what some may think. He showed he gets open, runs great not good great routes, and guess what outside of pre-season he catches the ball. I think I saw one person on here say that after Philly got hurt the offense struggled. Was that because he was out there putting in work on Talib even after he almost got is neck torn off? Just sayin......
