I think he will be a more durable Percy Harvin. I think Miller is a much better athlete than Randle and probably better than Cobb based on what I saw from him this past season.

We aren't talking about athleticism alone, I am talking about his hands, and his eyes. How quickly could his muscle memory get to see ball, catch ball. It took Funchess half of the season and he was a pass catcher his entire career. Cotchery has always been known for his hands and it took him all of last season to finally get used to Cam's throws.

In a nutshell, do we have the space to commit that high of a pick to a developmental prospect at that position?

Fair points.  I think the developmental time depends on the player and how we use him if he winds up here.  You could still use him for short passes in the flat and have but yeah, I can't see many mid range seam routes being executed to a tee by most rookie WRs.  I just think he's way more along than people will give credit for.  He's not some Joe Webb type.  Good post.

It's also not about his route running. Really it's his ability to react when he needs to because Cam won't lob him the ball in the flat on a hot route. He's going to hold in that A button and it's coming out on fire. That comes from repetition. If i'm a scout, i'm running predetermined routes with a juggs machine turned up to see how he adjusts as time goes along.

I think we could use him as a slot receiver though. He's got more potential than Brown and, in my opinion, if far closer to OBJ in terms of athleticism than anyone else.

I mentioned routes because the type of routes run predicate the velocity of the throw but yeah, Cam can throw darts on those short ones at times.  One thing is for sure: Cam throws freaking lasers with those mid rangers.

It's a fuggin retarded idea. The past has proven countless times that a very good RB can be had in later rounds. Hell, David Johnson was drafted in the 3rd and he looks like the best RB out of that 2015 class (yes, even Gurley). Our running game wasn't a problem all year, it was mostly pass rush, WR, and O-line (mostly Remmers). I just don't see it with Henry. A more than capable RB can be had in later rounds.

I don't think many people would agree that Johnson looks better than Gurley.

Further more, our offensive line wasn't an issue in almost any game last season. Remmer's isn't the only tackle to be abused by Von Miller and certainly won't be the last. Shula respected JJ Watt more than Miller which led to him leaving Remmers in one on one situations unlike the game against the Texans.

In a nutshell, I disagree with everything you said.

The Giants drafted a running back much like Henry in 2005.

Brandon Jacobs.  He was 6-4 256.

Henry is 6-3 247.

Henry compares favorably with Jacobs in a number of ways, except Jacobs was faster.

Jacobs was a... GOOD running back for a number of years in the NFL.

I'd rather not spend our 1st round pick on "good".

But in Gettleman I trust... so let it be written.  So let it be done.

TJ Yeldon had a nice rookie season for Jacksonville and Eddie Lacy's issue is weight and conditioning, neither of which have anything to do with Bama. When in shape, he was a Pro Bowl caliber player.

And neither of those guys (nor Henry) ran in a read-option offense in college nor do they run in a read-option offense in the NFL.

As a fellow Auburn fan I would agree with that comparison.  I do think though that Henry might actually end up being faster, as far as 40 times at the combine.

Either way I'm not a huge a fan of picking running backs in the first round.  With us picking 30th I could understand taking a RB if the top one in the draft fell to us, but Henry isn't even regarded as the best RB in the draft by most of the "experts" that I've listened to.

I'd be super intrigued by this pick.

BPA. We may not "need" an RB right now, but we didn't "need" a LB last year either. BPfugingA.

I don't know too much about college ball and haven't jumped headfirst into the draft talk this year yet. How is he in relation to the other running backs coming out?

Henry is the perfect rb for us. He aint no bust guys a beast and hes an athletic freak just like cam , just picture both of them on the field at the same time. One more thing is gettleman won the superbowl with brandon jacobs at rb him and Henry are similar but I give the edge to henry
