Panthers Going After Derrick Henry in the Draft?? Please let It Be So

Gettleman doesn't waste 1st rounders so if he and his scouts evaluations lead them to believe he will be a stud and not a bust then he will be a Panther. Gettleman has said repeatedly that running the football ans defense wins championships. We have been putting off drafting a true feature back for far too long and Stew isn't getting young. Wouldn't ne surprised

Please no Alabama RBs.  So hard to evaluate since they get to run against college defenses behind an NFL caliber OL.  Okay, not NFL caliber, but definitely an OL chock full of future NFL players.

TJ Yeldon had a nice rookie season for Jacksonville and Eddie Lacy's issue is weight and conditioning, neither of which have anything to do with Bama. When in shape, he was a Pro Bowl caliber player.

My only issue with Henry is does he have the vision to keep him from being a Trent Richardson redux.

If he does, we have a power running game featuring two players in excess of 6'4 240 in the backfield to go along with Trai Turner and Daryl Williams on the right side of the line for years to come.

How much did we tweet about Shaq?

I'm pretty sure a day or two before the draft a lot of people had leaked that we were WAY higher on him than other teams. If I remember correctly, I also seem to remember hearing that Shaq was one of three-four players that we realistically were planning on taking. It worked out fine for us last year but the fact that the pick was not a huge surprise to me makes me nervous about our ability to play the draft 'game' and keep our strategy on the DL. Hope this isn't the case again and a team drafting after us jumps ahead of us knowing our pick...

I would seriously put my life savings that we either draft Henry or Braxton Miller. It's so obvious this year it isn't even funnny. Not even going to pay attention to the first round.

I definitely have a feeling about Braxton.

    • I am not at all interested in even thinking about a WR or TE. Let's see how the combine goes. He would need a lot more than that film to impress me. For a guy who watches zero CFB I wasn't that impressed. Good hands but nothing screams top 10 pick with him to me. He looks solid but nothing more. That's what I want a 2nd round TE to look like, good physicals and hands but lacks meaningful separation.
    • I think Tepper is a terrible owner, but not because he doesn't want to win. He's a terrible owner because he is impatient and doesn't know what the fug he is doing.
