Why reach for a RB this draft, when next years class it's ten times better?

what happen to the Wegher and CAP hype train?

I like Wegher and CAP, but I want BPA at 30, and, right now, a dang good case can be made Derrick Henry may just be it.

Trent Richardson also had character and injury concerns.  Truth be told I never liked him and even more, I've never liked Alabama.

There's no more relevance between Trent Richardson/Derrick Henry than there is Joe Montana/Jimmy Clausen, Tom Brady/Chad Henne, Bo Jackson/Cameron Artis-Payne, and countless others.  LSU used to be WR bustville, so how could Mike Clayton be a bust as a 1st round pick and Jarvis Landry be a stud at pick 63?  Different people.

Richardson is explosive, powerful and balanced, the three most shining traits that are evident when he ran the ball for Alabama. He is a heady and instinctual player who is patient enough to wait for blocks to develop within the scheme and quick enough to change course and cut backfield to daylight. Richardson has a strong core that he uses to break arm tackles and get physical leverage under would-be blockers or blitzers in pass protection. He is a true three-down back who can be effective on screens and out of the backfield catching the ball. Richardson is an ideal height, big enough to remain a force in the power run game, yet small enough to remain elusive and hide behind blocks.

Richardson will likely prove that he has the talent to make plays on his own, but much of his production were yards on plays in a good scheme with a seam and an opportunity to get to linebacker and safety level without much trouble.

Like Promethean said... EVERY. GODDAM. YEAR.

When you dig for Bama running backs, you damn well better question your strike.  Because evidence shows its more likely to be Fools Gold than the Mother Lode.

The relevance is that everyone at Alabama could run behind the OL they always put together. Only Lacy has shown well in the NFL. The relevance seems obvious.

Ingram and Yeldon would politely disagree with you. Ingram was a pro bowler and Yeldon was very productive for a rookie, on the jags, that deserves extra credit. Both had similar yards from scrimmage as our own J Stu last year, so be carefull who you mock. Ingram has aslo done some damage against us, I dont know how you could have missed that.

Dude... Trent Richardson had "outstanding" vision coming out of Alabama too. Spare me. I don't want a RB with below average agility, limited vision and a high center of gravity. Good god. I can't believe people find a way to get hyped about an Alabama RB.

Every. Goddamn. Year.

This is literally the living and breathing definition of insanity.

Henry was the combines top perfomer of rbs in the vertical, broad jump and 60 shuttle and at 247lbs ran a 4.54 and led the nation in missed tackles forced with 60. Tell me more about this below average agility. I get the concern about a higher center of gravity and the quality of talent at bama. I always felt Richardson ran a little square myself, plus the ball control issues dont help. Add in the Cleveland factor and a players personal self motivation I just dont think its fair to lump all the bama backs into one. 3 of the 4 recent additions are starting rb quality even if Lacy needs to lose a few pounds. But that harkens back to personal responsibility not talent, he clearly has that. I do have concerns with Henrys hand size but apparently showed really well stepping in as a wr at bamas pro day

Actually the school they played for is the biggest factor and if a player was bad in the past at that school then a completely different human will be as well

I mean I just am amazed at how you idiots can't process these hard truths

Also I hope we don't win the madden cover this year because like Eddie George got hurt and stuff

I like Henry but there are just too many talented DE's and DB's available at the end of round 1 to pass one up for a backup RB.

Its not a need for sure but he deserves to be in the bpa discussion at our pick. I see value in it. Me, id rather see Gman pick a CB if the talent is there. Other than josh and bene, who do we have under contract ?

Well just because someone visits doesn't mean we'll draft them..

I'd honestly not be against it if we didn't resign Tolbert and didn't draft CAP last year already. Somehow I can't imagine Heisman winning RB being relegated to 3rd string RB it would be a waste to sign him and not having him see the light of day for playing time with a stacked up RB stable already.
