Bene to compete for corner, not nickel

Bene should be outside.  IMO, I think people see how late he was drafted and the small school he came from and don't think he's a boundary CB.  Bene can slide inside, but his natural position is outside. 

For me, I want Jeremy Lane. Perfect nickel, young, and underutilized in Seattle.  I'd want McClain for the dime spot and let him compete for nickel.  If he wants it, then we've got 4 nasty DBs.

Also, whatever happened to Byndom??  I liked what I saw of him in TC and the preseason.

Having Bene' healthy for a full year would give a huge boost to our passing coverage.

theres no doubt in my mind that he would be succesful opposite Norman. 

Its a lot easier to find a nickel, considering we have 3 LBers who are pretty good at picking up quick slants and covering the middle.

Makes sense. They could draft a rookie at CB and have him a nickel or 4th CB so they'll have time to learn. I'm curious to see how this injury affects Bene's speed.

I think he and Mcclain both have a shot of making the roster, but there's not enough game time for me to make judge either. McClain didn't play great, but did well enough considering that he was thrust into a tough situation.  Plus Teddy Williams should definitely get cut (just played god awful all year), which opens a chance for someone to help themselves with good ST play.
