I never thought I'd enjoy a GMs interviews as much as Gettlemans, they're compelling viewing

Remmers has played very well since arriving here. He was beaten by the best pass rusher in the NFL and it was strength vs weakness. Shula did nothing to help. I like Remmers and look forward to a battle for the starting RT spot. He also brings position flexibility which is coveted in the NFL.

Gettleman also had an interview with Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk.com yesterday. Haven't heard it yet. I actually just saw this on their website.

I seriously can not understand why anyone wants to replace Remmers because of the Super Bowl. He played admirably all season. There aren't many, if any, RTs in the NFL that would have been able to block Von Miller one-on-one in the Super Bowl. 

Even if you didn't pregame plan for him, after the first sack/strip/TD you have to account for the guy the rest of the game. You have to recognize where he is and make sure Remmers has help when Miller's on his side. It's really not rocket science, just an inability to make the simple adjustment. If Miller is on the line on the right side, slide protection over to help block him. Maybe Cam could have made that adjustment as well, but the OC is ultimately responsible for calling the play and creating/ adjusting the game plan.

While the easy solution for fans is to say: UPPPPGRADDEEEE!  That's a lot harder than just finding a better player.

Did Remmers get torched during the SB?  Absolutely.  Did Oher get beat?  Yep, a few times as well.  There were also several missed blocked.  Or times where protection wasn't adjusted.  Like there was one I saw in another video where Oher got beat by Ware.  Fozzy was back to block before releasing out, through the Guard-Tackle hole.  Had he seen Ware on the outside, could he have gotten in the way?  Given Cam a fraction of a second longer?  Sure, but that's indicative of the entire game.  That's what was so frustrating, we spent a season making those plays, but they went away that day.

I like how Rivera and Gman aren't going to hang Mike out to dry.  It was a team effort in that loss, but he'll have some competition come camp, that's just the way it goes.

He nearly cost us the Seattle game in week 6 and got destroyed in Atlanta.  He's a good effort guy and a solid backup but it's painfully clear that he will always be a liability when competing against elite speed talent.  Darryl showed so much promise last year in preseason I don't see how he shouldn't get the start.  

Our loyalty to good effort guys like Bell cost us dearly, we have to stop being emotional and realize how fortunate we are that Williams feel to the 4th.

There is a reason they are the pros and we are the fans.  I agree I wanted to see what Williams would do as well.  There was a fair amount of hype for him throughout the preseason and training camp last year.  It could be he just wasn't ready for the stage yet?

Gettleman said it takes three years for these younger guys to be ready.  I think that might have a lot more to do with it than blind loyalty.
