Say what you will but Portugal knows how win ugly. That's all that matters. Germany or France better bring their A game because Portugal is like the freaking camel luring the bull into the desert.

It did help to have Sanches (despite turning the ball over countless times) starting too. He adds pace and aggressiveness to Portugal's attack.

I have no problem with winning ugly.  The point is that in group stage they were not winning ugly, they were not winning at all.  I do not see how anybody can say a team that does not win getting through is a good thing.

top of the bracket was so damn weak. how did Belgium screw this up.

I do not like using the word choke Or calling players/teams complete and utter failures.  This is one area where those descriptions may apply.

That's not on Portugal. Every opponent had their chances and couldn't put one through the net (except Hungary and Iceland), and Portugal's defense is very suspect. Tough poo. They beat Wales (the favorite) and now are onto the finals.

I'm honestly gonna laugh at all of you if Portugal wins.

You are right, it is not on Portugal, it is on UEFA.

I am not sure why wanting teams to win a game to get out of group stage is funny but if it helps you get through the day then laugh away.

Wales was never the "favorite". Not sure why you've said this multiple times.

The point is they won when it mattered. Portugal still has to go through Germany or France to lift the trophy. So if they do win it all then they deserve it.

Oh, trust me. I will. The Portugal hate is laughable. Put one through the net. That's it. Wales had various opportunities, especially with Pepe out.

So we have broadened the definition of the word hate so much that it now includes "not liking it when a team advances out of their group without winning a game?"  I really hope society learns new words at some point.

Uhhhh, check twitter. Everybody was picking Wales to win because Portugal couldn't win in 90 mins. ESPN FC analysts all picked Wales too.

As they put it: "Wales has heart and play as a team. Portugal are massive underachievers and a squad of individuals".

LOL...twitter said it so it must be true!!

Wales was +320 to win in 90.

Betting odds vs fanatic opinions.

It's not about being "true". It's about what was reality.

No....it's about what allows you to falsely inflate your boy CR7....Wales was never the favorite. That's factual. Unless we're going to move away from the almost universally accepted definition of a sports "favorite" in this one instance, you're wrong.

It is hate. The mere fact that articles are already being written about placing an asterisk for this Euros makes my case. Didn't you even listen to the Sky commentary? They were talking smack about Portugal at every opportunity.

I did not listen to it, nor do I care.  I did however both read and listen to commentary pre-tournament where people were against this format for this exact reason.  Nobody said Portugal's name, or the name of any other team at the time as an example.

Please explain how not wanting a third place team with three ties making it out of group is "hate."  I am the same way with all sports.  I am the guy when March Madness happens that would prefer a bubble team with elite wins and bad losses to someone that has neither.  It is not out of "hate" for one team or another, but rather because I prefer the team with the win.

I do not hate Portugal.  The only national team I "hate" is Brazil.  Hell, if France beats us today then I will be rooting for Portugal on Sunday.

Yep that's exactly what is C47 (James/Pogba nuthugger). ;)

If they were being picked by everyone then guess what, Einstein? They were favored. Go buy a dictionary.

They were +320

I can't make that any fuging clearer for you. We're not changing the commonly accepted definition of favorites in sports because you want to. Sorry....doesn't work like that. Portugal was the favorite yesterday you moron.
