I thought that was a weak yellow and subsequent red. Messi embellished that one a little bit. Give the foul but now Chile has a big uphill battle to fight.

Yup it's disappointing that it happened so early in a game of this magnitude. 

But dang, I love Vidal. He doesn't take anything from anyone out there and just wins possession time and time again. I'm hoping an Argentine gets sent off soon to even this game up and open up some space.

It was not a fault...  Diaz did not blocked Messi, Messi ran right into him to draw a fault.  You are allowed to stand your ground in soccer.

Yup it was a poor decision on the ref's part. I could have understood a foul but a card was just aggressive there.

Ref is from Brazil so I'm not surprised.  The quality of refs from Brazil has always been suspect.

I think the ref realized he botched the first call and needed to even up the sides. I'm just glad it's an even playing field now.
