Where do you get this BS from? Jordan Gross didn't have any problem doing what was best for the team. Just because 2 big personalities came out with issues doesn't mean the team isn't loyal or respect their players. You have an agenda and it is a joke.

Jordan retired at his 1st opportunity with tread on the tires.

Well the post you replied to had nothing to do with Gettleman. That post was about not being able to get a ring if they leave for the money. Those are facts. Not sure how you spin that into a Gettleman topic.

The odds are in favor of a former Panther getting a ring on another team next season instead of achieving it with the Panthers in 2016. Charles Johnson has a better shot at making more money by leaving and getting a ring with a contender of his choosing than staying on board with the Panthers and taking less money. I want the Panthers to get to and win the Super Bowl, but I am well aware of the probability of the Panthers being able to achieve that feat.

Jordan Gross took a pay cut to player in his final year for the Panthers. Jordan Gross went out of his way to thank David Gettleman in his retirement press conference. Jordan Gross stayed with the Panthers for 2 years to work for the team. Screams like a guy who hates management.

Agreed. Gross planned all along to retire with Smith after the 2014 season. Those two were and still are good friends. The front office wanted Gross to stick around for his final season in 2014 so they could work on Chandler as his replacement. Gross made his decision for his benefit since the team showed a lack of loyalty to their own. Can not blame him for his decision given the circumstances even though he could have given the team more.

I do not even know where to begin with this. So Jordan was so pissed at the team that he decided to forgo millions and millions of dollars to play with the Panthers because of the lack of loyalty he was shown, but decided to stick around and work for the Panther's media team for a lot less money? Makes sense man. Keep spewing crap to push your agenda against Gettleman.

Did you completely block out the 2014 offseason? Here is a recap. Seems like you need it. You can throw in the decision to move away from Wharton as well that factored in to Gross' decision.

Gross' voice wavered and he fought back tears on first sentence. The now-retired offensive tackle said he was surprised emotion hit him so quickly and he couldn't keep it together. He attempted to insert humor saying "these always feel like funerals," but said he made this choice on his own and that the Panthers wanted to bring him back. Gross added he believes the team is in a good position and will be good for a long time.

The press conference was just as classy as you'd expect. Gross spent time thanking the lesser-known members of the organization -- film staff, strength coaches, security guards. Everyone had their time. The offensive tackle said he didn't like Dave Gettleman last Summer (presumably due to his contract restructure) but said he's doing a fine job.

So very true.

Gross did not need the money. He had enough. He said so himself in an interview. He did however want to go out with his friends at the end of the 2014 season, and since they were dumped and held no value to the front office Gross showed loyalty to his friends over the team. It was not easy for Gross to leave, but his reason for playing was slashed by the front office.

So, I reiterate my position on CJ. Do not take the pay cut, and if the Panthers value you they will keep you. Otherwise find a team that will value you and give yourself a shot at a better contract and a pick of a contender.

Where did I say the Panthers didn't want to bring him back? Yes, the Panthers absolutely wanted to bring him back. But to say he wanted to  continue playing but decided not to because he was shown a lack of loyalty by the franchise is so far from the truth that it is a joke. The guy came back to work the sidelines and for the media team for less money. What you are saying doesnt even make sense.

You talk about how the veterans hate management and feel like there is no loyalty, but you fail to mention the players that don't leave. Ted Ginn Jr. wasn't given a "fair" contract offer by GEttleman after arguably his best season, but one year later ended up back in Carolina. Mike Tolbert has been on record of how he doesn't want to leave and hopes he retires a Panther. Dwan Edwards, a veteran, has now signed TWO contracts with Gettleman. Josh Norman who is never afraid to speak his mind has been on the record saying how great he has been treated by this franchise and wants to come back. You are embarrassing yourself.

it is like talking in circles with you. i never said he needed to money. if he was anti the franchise and anti the management team here, then why did he come back for less money to work for the team? if he was holding such a strong grudge and showing such loyalty then why did he take a job with the team?

jordan gross' contract voided early in 2014 and he could have hit FA as a 33 year old left tackle coming off a pro bowl year with a good bit left in the tank.  he didn't do that instead opting to retire and immediately turn into a twig.

so what dave gettleman did was far more nefarious than merely pissing gross off - he actually killed his desire to play football!

charles johnson counts $15 million against the cap this year.  that's a bigger cap figure than jj watt.  are you freaking crazy enough to believe he's actually worth that?

if he doesn't want to take a straight up pay cut then that's fine-he'll be released and go to some other team.  fair is fair and both sides understand that.  dave gettleman isn't going to blink first.
