I don't get it. It's a good article on Jared and the paragraph you are referring to just says what we all think, that if Cam were white no one would care about him celebrating.

I hope that's what you referring to snce nothing bad was said.

I was reading an article a couple of weeks back on a Liverpool Football Club site (the Liverpool Offside) when the guy in the article somehow worked Cam Newton into the discussion (don't remember the exact details).

I looked further and the guy who wrote the article was American, so not surprising he was able to use Cam as a reference somehow.  But his using Cam as some kind of comparision/discussion kind of meant that he assumed that the English fans would 'get' the reference.
